I find

Stealth Elf,

Drobot and

Terrafin all to be excellent. For each of them I did all 29 Heroic Challenges that I have on SSA, they're all fast and Stealth Elf and Drobot kill quickly, necessary for the sections with Monster Gates and stuff, places where you can't skip fights. Terrafin is awesome at skipping fights, just go underground as much and as often as possible, and he moves quickly. And for the enemies he has to kill, that splash emerging from underground is also quite effective. I find my Stealth Elf especially, on the blades path, to be a freaking blender, she mows through everybody, then her acrobatic move (Attack 3, the attack that does nothing for any character until you buy the appropriate upgrade) moves her around even quicker than her run.
