The ones obtained from the seventh arena challenge gives your skylander better armor when they are low on health. The others I have no clue.

One which you get from Auric makes Giants pick up Boulders faster.
I forget what the rest of them do...

About half of them increase the damage you do to certain enemies, like trolls and robots. Another I think increases your health regeneration in elemental areas.
