I'm puzzled by the number of Skylanders reported on my Collection screen - i.e. the number on the Tree Rex picture. In my game, I've registered every non-variant Skylander thus far released for either S:SA or Giants - a total of 73. Additionally, I've registered every magical item and sidekick except the Volcanic Vault - a total of 19.

When I go to my Collection menu and then go to the Skylanders screen, all the numbers look correct. The numbers for each element are accurate and add up to 73. The total of 92 reported in the middle matches with adding the 19 magical items.

However, on the main Collection screen itself, that number on the Tree Rex picture says 85. This is irritating me to no end. It's too high to be the number of Skylanders I've used. I can't come up with any rational way of getting that number by selectively excluding particular groups of Skylanders or items from my total. It just seems kind of random.

Anyone have any idea what this number is actually reporting and why it doesn't seem to match anything?

Same issue here. 113 total in the center silver box in the Skylanders menu, but 110 with the picture of Tree Rex in the Collections menu.

I thought it was just not registering the catapult and both cannons. Now I'm interested to see if I can fix this.

Oops, thought I'd mentioned that. I play on the Wii.

All magical items and Adventure packs and Sidekicks add to the overall total but not to the total of Skylanders, it's not a glitch or anything.

That is not correct in my case. Only 3 not counting. 110/113 Nobody else is having this issue?

Right, it's not that it's displaying the number of Skylanders rather than the total number of items registered. It's that it's displaying some random number between them for no apparent reason. In my case, as stated in the first post, I have 73 Skylanders, 92 total Skylanders/items, but the screen shows 85.

I have three not counting as well. I think mine says 106/109.

I saw a person's save file on a video on Facebook, say he had 104 registered Skylanders. It doesn't make a bit of sense, seeing as mine says 91 and I have everything released so far.

The only group of three that I see is the items from the Battle Packs (golden cannon, regular cannon, and catapult). Strange that they would be the only items to not count toward total.

Hi all, new user here so i might sound super n00b but, do any of you having this problem own a Walmart Red Drill Sergent or the Green Gill Grunt from the Xbox 360 bundle or the TRU Blue Bash (cant speak for the Clear Blue Bash since i don't have it yet) ? Ive noticed that on Skylanders Universe those dont show up as special or a second/third version of them so maybe its taking off those three on the one counter.

I would test myself but ive sworn off giants till i finish my S1 Collection (should arrive in the mail soon!)

Characters only show up if you take ownership of them, right? There wouldn't be something I can see, but isn't counting, correct? Not sure why this is bothering me. :/

Also, what is the highest number possible right now? 118? 119? I'm not sure if the Double Trouble that wasn't in the Gamestop Battlegrounds pack (not Royal but S1 pose with orange base) has a separate icon.

Nope. I think the problem you see there is either:

1. The game isn't programmed with a higher number

2. The Magic Items, Sidekicks, and variants don't count.

Can't be the Sidekicks since only 3 numbers different. I guess I could open a new file to test.

Does anyone know why my Series 1 guys don't include in the total? My collection total says just 27. I put Camo on the portal and then checked his place under Collections and it remains darkened out! Please help! Thanks.

You have to manually take ownership of it.

Seriously it will do this to things that are not Skylanders. Scroll all the way to the right of your collection then take a pic. Mine does the same thing but it's because I have Adventure Packs added.

Uh, Matteo, my Sidekicks register toward my totals, but not on the elements. I will take pics shortly, and show how mine breaks down, but I think I am at 111, and I have registered -

That's 111. Sidekicks do register on the PS3, Wii U, and 360 versions of the game. I will take a pic when I get some time today.

WickedRogue, you're missing the point. Go back to the original post. The gray box in the middle of the Skylanders collection screen is correctly showing the total number of Skylanders and magical items owned. The issue is one screen back - the main Collection screen. Each icon on that screen gives the number of items collected. The number reported on that screen, on the Tree Rex icon, is the one we're trying to figure out.

It is higher than the total number of actual Skylanders owned, so it seems like it must include magical items. However, it's less than the total of both Skylanders and items, so it's apparently excluding some items.

For what it's worth, these are my 19 items. My total is coming up 7 short.

8 Adventure Pack magical items
4 Sidekicks
Dragonfire Cannon
Golden Dragonfire Cannon
Scorpion Striker

My 73 Skylanders are the 73 that appear on the posters for the two games that have been released. I haven't used any variants (in-game or otherwise) in my game.

Maybe it's a glitch on the Wii version of the game? It always shows the correct number of Skylanders for me on the Wii U, PS3, and 360 versions.

See, it shows 111 TOTAL for me on 360, PS3, and Wii U. I haven't played the game on Wii (keeping those sealed).

It shows 91 on the file select screen, as well as the collection screen, and each element adds up to 91. I want to know, though, how people are showing files as having 104 and 113 Skylanders? Not unless the Wii version registers Sidekicks, Magical Items, and Location Items as Skylanders registered on the file select screen and collections screen.

These screens also show that Sidekicks, Magical Items, and Location Items do register for your Total's log.

I haven't opened up my Wii Version yet. So far I see everything correct, It might be the Wii Version actually adds everything as it was built with the Wii version and then ported to the other consoles, even the Wii U.

I just tested my Wii version. The only items it doesn't count are the Volcanic Vault, and the items from the Battle Packs (both cannons and the catapult). It is counting all the Adventure Pack levels/items, and the Sidekicks from S:SA. So my collection number says 110, and total Skylanders says 114.

Mine is still coming up 7 short. Not counting the three Giants battle pack items makes sense - at least as much as anything does. But that still leaves four items that aren't being counted on mine, but apparently are on yours. I don't have the Vault, so that's not one of them. And you already ruled out all the adventure pack items and sidekicks. Assuming all the Skylanders are registering on yours ok, that means something's different on mine for some reason.

Out of curiosity, are your sidekicks from the original promotion or from Gamestop? Mine are from Gamestop.

Mine are Frito Lay.

Hmm, wonder if it's the Wii version only that is getting that high number of 110 and 114? You say it's not registering the vault as an item, nor the catapult or canon(s), either? That's odd.

They show up in the silver Total box, but not the collection box with Tree Rex's picture. 114/110.
