Just launched my iOS app and there was an update without needed to reDL the app from the app syore. Now Hot Dog, Eye-Brawl and Thumpback are available!

My guess is all the characters (including Ninjini and Legendary Chill) have been on there for awhile (they probably snuck it in with the update that added Tree Rex and Hot Head's house - and who knows what else as well). Those features just need "on" switches to be enabled to be playable.

Data that small can be transferred over at the same time that the weekly "update" message is changed. So when you see the new update talking about how they're available, the "on switch" is activated at that same time without needing an actual game update.


Not sure if it's an issue with just me, though, but the three new 'Landers don't seem to have the usual character-specific quests that unlock when they reach Level 5. They SHOULD be there (it's showing "Goal" by the 30 minute adventure under the Fire element, meaning Hot Dog should have a quest involving that), but the actual quest itself is not showing up.

You have to find the character in the game and click the scroll above their head.

In order to make sure you are getting the updates:

1. Make sure you are connected to wifi
2. Load and play game for five minutes to ensure you have downloaded the new content
3. Force close your app and restart *

*To force close an app:
a. double tap the home menu to bring up a list of active processes on the device (will appear as a row of icons on the bottom of your screen)
b. press and hold down on the Skylanders Lost Islands icon
c. click the red delete circle in the upper left

My actual challenge showed up after the goal indicator on the quests, but it did show op eventually. Not the first time with this issue...
