I dunno, the "2.0" tag catches me off guard. I feel like it would be an update or add-on of some sorts.

But hey, what do I know? That whole trailer explained nothing. Showed it to my little sister and she's all like,
"We get to play as Captain America's shield?"

I rather expect them to treat Marvel as a single franchise as opposed to each series and do one playset for Marvel itself and do only a handful of people. Realistically, they're only likely to do a couple of Avengers, namely Captain America & Iron Man, and then Spider-Man and Wolverine since in May there's going to be a movie with each.

I know they said there will be more "Disney content" but I am highly disappointed. I am not into Marvel at all. Plus I think Disney is alienating a lot of their fan base and there is potential for it to back fire on them. This just confirms that I am 100% a Skylanders guy. Unless Disney throws a major curveball I will not be supporting Infinity 2.0.

I thought other funny part of presentation was how infinity claimed to be top franchise in sales. I Google that and every article said they only outsold because they had an almost 2 month head start and that Skylanders outsold infinity on a monthly basis once it came out.

That's logic. Sure the past characters should be able to work with the new game, but the new characters can't work on the old one unless the data is already on the disk for the past characters or they release a patch to let them. Which why would they? It provides more incentive to buy the new game.

I'll post this again from the exec producer of DI:

"We'll not only be forwards-compatible but backwards-compatible as well," Vignocchi continued, "because we'll push a title update that features all the characters from Infinity 2 that can be applied to your Infinity 1 game. So then players from Infinity 2 can still interact with players from Infinity 1 inside of their Toy Box with that title update.

"So even if you own Infinity 1, you could buy an Infinity 2 character, [and] we would push all the animation data down the pipe into the Toy Box on Infinity 1."
