Alternate power for the portal [CLOSED]

Yesterday, I was trying to find a way to power up the portal without turning on my PS3 because my son just thinks it so cool looking in his room. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried other ways (successfully) to power up the portal, for display purposes. I was able to get the portal to light up off of a USB port on his TV but it would not power up off of an Apple USB wall plug.

I use a powered usb hub from ps3 or my power usb hub for pc get one at meijers or walmart for 9.99 to 15.00 its cool good luck.

Thanks trixster, I guess the amperage is off on the apple USB wall plug. I may pick up a USB hub to connect to it and see if that outputs the proper amperage.
