Hi guys,
I see more topics on this subject, but no definitive answer. Has anyone managed to get this working?
I'm on OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion) and am using a PS3 USB portal that came with Skylanders Giants. Every time I install the drivers, which i get from the Skylanders Universe site, it seems to install correctly. After closing the installer I notice there is a terminal window open. However, the website keeps stating that the drivers weren't successfully installed. I've tried with Safari, Firefox and Chrome, but no difference. The Portal lights up when connected, but that's it.
Any clues? My son would be very gratefull!
Thanks

Did you try restarting or closing the window and opening a new one? I have no idea on this, just a few things I would try.

I have a similar problem of the Portal drivers not working in Universe (I have a Netbook running Windows). Sometimes I download them and they work, some times it doesn't work. Often downloading the driver and refreshing the website works - sometimes.
Really though, there is no need to use the Portal on Universe other than to register figures easily (but you can do that it's the web codes). Even swapping characters is easily done in the side menu now.

I am right here with you on a Mac, tried Wii SA version, 3DS SA & Giants version and Giants Wii U version, still no luck. Tried on 3 different Macs all with different configurations. NO DICE! I haven't played online because it's such a pain to enter all those web codes (I know poor me). Still have gotten no help from Activision on this; so annoying....

I know how!
If it is locked: Finder > Applications > SpyroPortalDriver ( Thats what shows up on mine ) Click that and follow these steps: Click Command+I And a new tab will open ( Make sure the File is Blue /Highlited\ ) And then scroll too the bottom where it says: Sharings and Permissions and allow access to all. Then it should open and start working! I had the same problem! Hope this helped!
