I wasn't picked either, but I'm not all bummed about it. I figured I likely wouldn't be picked, especially since I never had any experience as a mod before, and probably didn't really word my reasons good enough. Not to mention my past on the site.

Ugh, enough about me. Congratulations for all that did, hope it won't be too much stress for you all! Good luck on keeping the job.

Im not bummed becuase i knew i wasent going to get picked and congrats to the ones who made it to stage two! Anyway, i dont have experience with being a mod on a forum but i had experience on a chat on xat. And to be honest, if i was picked, i wouldnt be the best. I lost my owner/ mod on the chat because i became inactive.

To those who did post that they "got the nod," I would make a recommendation for when you are applying for positions like this in the future. Forgo announcing it to everyone the very day of it. Send a private thank you note to the person (in this case dark, but it could be someone else) to thank them for their consideration (in fact, when you have an interview for anything you should send a thank you note to the interviewer after it's done to thank them). Then the best course of action is to wait for the changes to take effect. When it comes to jobs (more specifically, pay raises or promotions) in the real world, you can share privately amongst family (and maybe close friends), but otherwise it's best to accept the reward with quiet dignity.

I know that this was only an application for being a moderator, but there were several similarities between this application and others I've encountered when applying for colleges and jobs.
