Yes, the plastic of the base has no effect on whether or not the character will be recognised. Also, for future reference, your Legendary Trigger Happy is a series 1 character - meaning it won't have a wow-pow. Just so you don't get confused when you get Giants to find you can't buy the wow-pow.

Under the plastic base is a RFID chip which is what the portal actually is reading from... dents or scratches on the plastic base will have no affect on the chip itself, so you will be fine! smilie
