Anybody find them?

No snowy Prism Breaks in these shipments for me. I don't think there are other variants; Universe only shows a new Prism Break (snowy) and a new Gill Grunt (unknown, but doesn't ship in these boxes; maybe Wave 4 soon?) as having "special" images in the latest update, and they tend to keep on top of those things. I predict no variant this wave aside from the one in the LightCore box, with snowy Gill Grunt and a Giant showing up later. Not a firm prediction on the Giant, though.

Sure thing. I tell you, the "special" tag is really making it a lot easier to know what to look for ahead of time. I wasn't sure what to make of the new Prism Break image on S:SU until the actual variant dropped, but that clarifies things. Gill Grunt has an unexplained "special" photo (same update as Prism Break's actually), the green one from the Xbox bundle is NOT it (confirmed), and so I have no choice but to believe we'll be seeing him next. Probably not from the same boxes that are turning out glitter Sprocket and Sonic Boom, either. That would just be odd. I really think a hasty Wave 4 will be here around the new year.

Grill Grunt is in the wave 3 standard case assortment that TRU just released today. I asked around no one has seen any variants of him yet but time will tell.

Still nothing, I'm heading to two ToysRUs at midnight.

I'm heading to a TRU at midnight as well, I'll let you know if I'm lucky enough to find anything too!! That snowy Prism Break is hands down the coolest variant this time around!! (no pun intended...lol)

there is another unreleased/undefined Gill Grunt variant as it shows up in Skylanders Universe I think. Same thing with Prism Break but we recently found out it is the "snow" one.

I'm guessing they will save at least one variant for the last wave 4... this is most likely when we will see the Gill Grunt variant

There is still Polar WW, Scarlet Ninjini, Jade FW, and Molten HD that have to come out as well.

Correct. I'm hoping that these will be released as their own wave, and will be somewhat easy to find. They are listed in the guide so that is why I am hoping they are not the "chase" variants.

^ Yes, but those are not chase variants, like the "rock", "glitter" and "snow" figures we were talking about here... those are much more common than chase variants; they would be in the same category as Royal Double Trouble, Punch Pop Fizz and the Legendaries, the [chase] variants we are talking about here are only shipped approx 1 in every 50 boxes

Did anyone consider that since Whirlwind is part of the case selection for Wave 3, and the variant is basically a white fluffy material that it might be Polar Whirlwind? Has anyone loaded the Prism Break into the game to see what he comes up as? After all, didn't think knowledge comes mostly from Universe, which they can and do update - and doesn't Prism Break also have an extra slot on there as well?

The main interesting thing is Whirlwind is obviously part of the manufacturing cycle this time (for the second time). The variant material is a fluffy white flocking. The fact that this Polar Whirlwind variant does have a special name is something to think about, whereas chase variants are just "Special". But, in reality that is just logic that we inferred from hacks and guesses. But, since their manufacturing is already set up to support making Cloudy Whirlwinds, that variant may be part of some store's post Christmas marketing (maybe Target).

Someone is listing a white flocked lightcore prism break on craigslist by me in Chicago for $250!! I was obviously pretty close to one!....bummer!!

I checked on Skylanders Universe and could not find the variant Gill Grunt or Prism Break. How do you find these variants on Universe?

I could not find any referance to the unkown Prism Break and Gill Grunt in Skylanders Universe. I did however find that they have a spot for the Scopion Striker and the 4 new Sidekicks (Barkley, Thumpling, Eye-Small and Mini-Jini)
