Instead of Bouncer, Crusher and Swarm, who should you chose?

Nothing. I think the three they did were perfect. For the wave.

I would have stick with and any of the original three is fine. I was actually okay with the first ones because them and Eye Brawl were the only Giants I care about. My giants list was practically completed within the first week because the 8 out of 16 new characters were out. With , , , , , and , is all I need now.

I say Crush and Tree were both lumberers.

Well, assuming Tree Rex was still a mandatory starter, I'd have gotten rid of Swarm as one of the starting Giants and replaced him with Hot Head in Wave 1.
The reason? Elements. Anyone with the "full starter" of Giants would have a Life, Air and Undead element. You've already GOT an Air Skylander, so Swarm isn't necessary for low-budget players. (Eye Brawl falls in the same category - the two of them should have been the last two Giants released.) And if they'd played Spyro's Adventure before, they'd also have at least one Magic, Tech and Water Skylander. So Crusher and Hot Head being out right away would make sense, as they're the two unrepresented elements. Remember, about 75% of the people who completed Spyro's Adventure did it without even owning ONE Skylander of each element. Giving the ability to double-dip by getting a new giant AND a new element at the same time would improve their sales within that player group. (Although maybe not; they might say "I've already GOT a Giant, I could get two old figures from the first game at that price and use them in Giants instead.") |

I would have kicked off Giants with the absolute crappiest Skylanders made so everyone would be clamoring to get the new ones as they came out to get the really good ones, which would be held back for the final wave...
...oh wait. Did that already happen?

Figure-wise, they had the perfect set. Though I would've put Tree Rex in the console starter packs, Swarm in the 3DS pack, and Crusher in the portal owner's packs. Or something to that effect. While it isn't the case for me, It's pretty common for people to have at 1 console and 1 handheld. So being stuck with at least two Tree Rexes no matter what you do just seems lazy.
Last year, you got Spyro, Trigger Happy, and Gill Grunt in the console starters. While the 3DS version got Dark Spyro, Ignitor, and Stealth Elf. No doubles. You were essentially rewarded for getting both versions of the game by getting Dark Spyro, a 3DS-only variant, along with Ignitor significantly earlier than his single pack release and Stealth Elf singles being somewhat hard to find at launch. It's been discussed before, but even now, it seems like such a glaring oversight. |
