I will review this thing in a very short fashion, because that's what Power A did when they thought up this item. Shortened the time they put thought into it.
IT SUCKS!
I bought one, after a fellow poster here had one in a pic and I got curious. Needless to say, I just got home with it, and it's going straight back.
They should have put an * next to that 7 figure stamp on the package, because that's not true. It should read "Fits 7 Skylanders IF they fit."
I got home and started checking out all of my Series 2 figures, since their poses are more dynamic. These things are branded as Giants on the coliseum itself, but they're very picky.
I had planned on putting 5 figures in each of the bottom slots, seeing as this person who posted a pic with the coliseum in the background, apparently got 5 to fit. However, S2 Gill doesn't fit. Series 2 Hex? NOPE! Series 2 Terrafin? NOPE! Series 2 Whirlwind? NOPE! Fright Rider? **** NO! Series 2 Chop Chop? NOPE!
Stay away from this thing. They did not think about this product well enough before they threw it out there.

It's this thing.
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/i...L500_AA300_.jpg And it isn't worth the squat. Now, I will say this. It seems like all figures from Spyro's Adventure would fit in just fine, but the thing is, this is packaged in Giants-styled packaging, and branded with Skylanders Giants on the coliseum itself. In other words, it's a bit misleading, as most of my Series 2 figures wouldn't even fit in there. Then there is the case of the Giants. They don't fit. They should have branded it Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Coliseum Display, and then it would have been awesome. That, or they should have put on there, that these aren't gaurenteed to fit all figures.

I have this & actually REALLY like it. I pull the skylanders I want to use from where we keep them & put this behind my portal. The bigger ones go on top & you can fit more than seven pretty easily.
Can't really fit the giants, but I don't play with them often anyway. |

At least it's better than the arena display... That is just a cheap- I mean expensive stand that only eats batteries.

Yeah, I'm the person mentioned in the OP.
It's really overpriced and not worth it. I got mine as part of the current sale at TRU and if I manage to find one super-cheap down the road, I'll probably grab a second, but bleh. I actually managed to get seven to fit on the bottom shelf alone - S1 Spyro, S1 Dark Spyro, S1 Gill Grunt, S1 Stealth Elf, Punch Pop Fizz, Jet Vac and Ignitor. On the top, I currently have S1 Trigger Happy, GitD S2 Cynder and regular S2 Cynder. To get an idea of how short the internal shelf is, GitD Cynder will fit inside, but regular Cynder will not. Basically, I've got all the starters (short of Tree Rex) in this (since I keep my others sealed, this does work well for that). Still, not something I'd consider buying at $20. |

Figured out how to fit two more onto it. S2 Cynder's base is skinny enough, it'll fit in between the grooves on the top. Still not worth $20. |

It's not too bad... For $20 it's too expensive but if you can get it for ~$10 (got mine for $12/ea in Dec. during one of TRU promotional sale) then it might be worth a try.
