I've been noticing a lot lately that the game pages have been used for chatrooms by new users who treat it as such, posting spam, links to their contests on their guestbooks, personal talk.

And the rule plainly stated:

"All off-topic comments will be deleted. Please do not use the comments system for conversations, instead use the provided forums for the game."

I don't find any of that shocking or surprising.

You think closing the page comments for a while would prompt the users to go over to the forums.

You mean that section for comments under the specific games? Maybe we should encourage use of Guestbooks and PMs?

Is it possible to send a mass PM? I feel like that would reach everyone better than a topic like this.

Yes, the comment sections on the game pages.

Or dark52 can just close the comments for a while, and the users will have no choice but to use the forums for their further conversations and such.

Unless they can do it all on their Guest Books.

I thought the Guestbooks were supposed to be the alternative to a chat box of sorts. But maybe we need to consider one... >.>

The problem with chatting on Guestbook is that it's hard to chat in groups.

Now they're spamming the Giants game page comments with smilies....

Only dark52, and possibly moderators, have the power to close the comments on the game pages.

What do you mean by "close comments"?

Closing the comments section prevents anyone from commenting on the page.

Mostly Skylander Man and Ace Dragon, and other new users spamming too.

Well it's pretty much happening only on the Skylanders pages. But I honestly don't understand why every page needs a comments section? They should honestly be closed except for the game's main page. If people actually want to talk about the content on the other pages, which is always dark's walkthroughs, we can just make threads in the game's sub-forum for discussion. <.<

Having a comments section prompts users to use that features for all kinds of discussions, on and off-topic.
