Say you best PVP moments.
Here's mine:
I was Stealth Elf and my opponent was Cynder. If either of us got hit, we would lose.
I did the attack to come out of stealth mode, and the other person shot lightning.
We couldn't tell who won. Who did win?
Let's just say the stealh mode dash attack doesn't make you invincible, just very fast.

my best moment was when mah cousin bet his camo would beat my zook, for 50 cents, and zook crushed camo. another time, my cousins little brother lost to zook, and the same cousin who bet on camo, said he had a "better strategy" and i creamed him. so funny!

Believe it or not, you can actually tie in pvp. It happened once with me as channeler Double trouble vs my brother as Ultimate spinner wrecking ball.

My dad was using a fairly upgraded crusher, and I was using a level 1 jet vac. I beat him (with basic attacks) them leveled up.

Okay, so I was Dino-Rang and my friend was Slam Bam. The battle was very long and drawn out, but we finally got to the point where both of our health bars were flashing red. He had about 31 HP left while I had like 8. So I as Dino-Rang used the move where I control my boomerang, so I throw it out at Slam Bam while he is on his snowboard, and my boomerang zips right passed him. I knew it was over. My friend stops in front of me and readies and ice hammer combo. Then, my boomerang started to come back to me, and Slam Bam was in between the boomerang and Dino-Rang. I had a small moment of hope, when I realized the boomerang did 22 damage and he had 41 HP. I braced for impact, then the boomerang hit him, AND IT WAS A CRITICAL HIT! It did 42 damage! I won the battle! The boomerang comes back and is a critical hit! It was amazing!

I was sunburn and my friend was swarm (don't have giants yet, only he does) anyway, he and his brother were like "you should just quit now, you'll never beat a giant!" I took him out in like 1:30 flat. That shut them up pretty quick haha

When I first purchased Skylanders: Giants, the first thing I did was go into the Battle Arena and started recording my cousin and I playing against each other. We ran into one funny instance during a Ring Out battle when I was Chop Chop, he was Legendary Ignitor, he knocked me out of the stage but he also fell with me, which I thought was impossible. It was pretty funny to me. It reminded me of the Soul Calibur series where you'd always want to fall off the stage along with your opponent after a Ring Out win. Luckily I caught that situation on video here. Beware though, this video contains explicit language.

When my friend was a Bash and I was a Cynder, he said "You'll never beat me with my rollout attack!" And I said "We'll see.." and my lighting and my buddy whooped him. He kept rolling into my little shadow fiends, defeating him. Heheheh >:3

Win post! This is exactly how I piss off my Smash friends whom play every day and attend major tournaments. Every video game we play I'd say, "Hold on, let me turn the items off and we'll have to play on Final Destination". I said the same when we played Battle Arena in Skylanders, LMAO.

Gonna use this one for future reference.

I'm a competitive Smasher, but nowhere near the level of those on Smashboards. Their attitude towards players outside of their tightly-knit community is horrendous. You can hold your own against the best of their community and still be put down by insults. There's never a handshake or any gesture of good sportsmanship after a match, either. There's always a complaint after losing. Still, I would prefer a tourney set to run standard rules, but I would have no problem with turning items on when I'm with friends. From my experience, the competitive scene for anything Smash-related still revolves around Melee or hacking Brawl to be more Melee-like. However, if you do decide to play the sequel, Brawl, a game that they ruled to be under-competitive, then you'll be spending your time counter-picking against Meta Knight, inevitably, with your own Meta Knight. Tiers are a very important part of the game, and necessary. Unfortunately, major tournaments don't place tier restrictions because they fear "hyped" players won't attend if they ban S- or A-tier characters. The community ruined a great game--not from being overly-competitive but from just being jerks. I only play at anime conventions and local tournaments now. Unless you make a pilgrimage to Apex, you'll always be considered a random casual to them.

So, yeah! Stay far away from competitive Smash.

I know what you mean. I'm a competitive fighting game player myself. I used to play Melee and Brawl for a bit but I'm currently a Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter X Tekken, Dead or Alive 5, Mortal Kombat, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, etc. player (I play almost every game nowadays).

Anyhow, I wanna see a scene for Skylanders! Real talk! There was one Skylanders tournament being held at my local fighting game venue earlier this year for Vanilla Skylanders (Spyro's Adventure) but I couldn't attend due to work. I really wanted to go check it out though. 'Till this day, I've never found out how big the turnout was, who won and with which Skylander(s). One of these days I wanna start hosting Skylanders tournaments and get everyone hype, lol. I'll make sure to share videos whenever I make it happen. For now, I'll just continue studying match-ups, frame data and hit box data for these Skylanders and their attacks. 'Cause I'm a freak!

Skylanders is too lighthearted for me to take seriously. I'm sorry if that's my inner tourney-'tard speaking. I played serious Skylanders player-vs-player before with my brother and the matches were too defensive. It came to the point that neither of us wanted to approach. "Where's the action?!" A time limit would need to be incorporated, somehow. Items and stage hazards do assist the circulation process, but can become a nuisance due to their arbitrary, game-changing spawning. I've lost so many games that I should have won, due to a powerful item spawning right in front of my brother. Anything luck-based will turn off hardcore players from getting into the game competitively. After losing a few rounds, I'd reach for my Soul of Flame Ignitor or Master Blaster Drobot and my brother would just forfeit.

I'd almost demand official tiers to be enforced if I got into Skylanders player-vs-player matches. What the folks here have is a fantastic start! But I'm afraid Skylanders will never reach the competitive level of most fighting or strategy games. Let's try to remember that Skylanders is directly marketed towards children. If we, as in the Dark Spyro Fourms community, could arrange a tournament in real life, directed towards competitive players like ourselves, we could have a fun time and truly see the Skylanders meta-game in action. Unfortunately, we can't all do that. Even more unfortunately, Skylanders player-vs-player can't even be played on-line.

I've won a handsome amount of money playing Smash over the last decade. Most of my opponents at these tournaments were teens and adults, as SSB is a slightly more mature game. If you do ever participate at your local venue, look around at your competition. If you're up against teens and adults, go all out on them! But if you're going against kids, consider sharing your prize with them or even dropping out altogether, especially if the prize is lousy. They need $10 to buy a new Skylander more than we do. We're men! We have real jobs!

Oh, and I'm glad that I made your week, DocCroc! I try my best.

Haha, true. "Here you go, you can have all my prize money. Now go buy yourselves some new Skylanders and then maybe one day you kids can become Skylander Masters like me." Yeah, Skylanders can never be competitive but hey, we can try if we really wanted to. If anything, it'd be a funny thing to see.

smilie THAT mentality is awesome, by the way. "Son, I bestow upon you...my useless, $20 prize. Now, remember, my child: With large wads of money comes semi-mediocre expectations for our next bout. Improve! Hopefully next time you'll do, at the very least, 200 damage to any of my Skylanders."

Next tournament rolls around and this goof-ball, bless the angels, managed to "fight" his way into the finals with you again. It's amazing what a few byes can do for a noob's tournament life. To your dismay, he used last tournament's prize money to purchase Sonic Boom, and he insists upon using her against your Ignitor. He rambles on, something about besting his younger sister in fierce combat. His Mom was slain, too? How about pops? Did efforts fall by the wayside? His Trigger Happy was just no match, huh? You don't know how much more you can take from "Jimmy's list of accomplishments". You face-palm and swear to yourself that you'll never, EVER give away your prize money again!

Too bad his precious, metallic Cynder keeps losing to your Series 1 Stumpsmash. His Mother is watching from afar, hoping that purchasing a rare variant would finally give her dearest son the edge. Her enthusiasm is short-lived. Her optimistic smile disappeared and was replaced with disgruntled grimace. One, two, three, four! Five?! How many acorns will this little goof-ball careless slam into?! "My Mom told me to spook you out with my ghosts!" He said. This one got you laughing hard. "Well, I'm going to give you some haunted acorns!" You reply back, randomly barfing acorns around the arena.

Now I'm laughing! What a stupid story, lol. This is what I get for staying up all night.

Jimmy's Mom advised her son to spam Cynder's "ghost" attack. Lightning is horrifying, don't hear me wrong, but Jimmy was far to fixated on Cynder's shadow dash to even consider trying out lightning.

Absolutely! He was bawling his eyes out! After miserably disappointing Victormaru in their second tournament confrontation, Victormaru decided against sharing his prize money with Jimmy this time around. And really, who could blame him? Jimmy is a total dolt and is undeserving of sympathy of any kind, much less a pity prize pack.
