What would happen if I skip some?

Well, some Skystones games are mandatory in order to unlock gates, obtain keys and progress through Chapters. The only point to playing Skystones is to obtain new Skystones which unlocks Accolades. Accolades didn't count towards your game percentage in Spyro's Adventure so my guess is that Skystones is completely optional. Although if you skip Skystones challenges, you'll miss out on some potentially good Skystones which could make your future games a lot easier.

Nope. I've only got about 50 some and I have 100%.

Also, I don't believe the Skystones count at all for Accolades, unless there's different ones for non-Wii consoles. I have 19/23 and the last ones are "Register 8 giants", "Register (I think it's like 32) orange Base Skylanders" and "Register 40 orange base Skylanders". The last one is the classic, "Unlock all other accolades"

There is one for 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, and 48. I should have made that part clear also.

No, it only goes up to 40.

It goes up to 40 and there have already been more than that number released for the completists. I think the only achievement that can not currently be completed is collect all 8 Giants.
