csv says granite is a varient. what do you guys think?

He is a variant. An ingame variant.

I consider these true variants. I explained more on the exact same post on the other board.

In Giants, there's 2 (technically 3). The first is Ingame Variants. These are ones like Legendaries, Granite Crusher, Jade Flashwing, Punch Pop Fizz, etc.

Second is Chase variants. These are ones like Stone Zook and Whirlwind and the new Sparkle/Marble variants. The reason I said 2 (technically 3) is because for the most part, these variants will register as "Special" in the game. However, Whirlwind and others from the first game do not register as "Special" but they're still variants.

So yeah, Granite Crusher is a variant in it's own classification.

I believe there is another kind a variant...
I only know of one and that is Chill (May be others but I'm not aware of any).
She does not play/look/has extra powers in the game but her physical apperance she comes in blue lips and red/purple lips.
This could be a mistake in production, but any case, it is a variant.
I am not sure of any others that have different physical apperance other than chill.
I got my son both since he likes to play this character alot, even though most people dislike her.

Chill is a mistake, as you said. Not a variant. Nothing is worse then the people on ebay trying to get 3 - 4x times the retail value or more for a chill with red lips.

there are many paint variations out there other then chills lips. drill sergeants base was all black, ignitors face was all yellow, and detail on stump smash just to name a few. oh and all the first wave air skylanders didnt have the air brushing on there base.

Mistake or not...
It is still a variant.
Just like the McFarlane (Sports) figures.
They make some that are different and have a production # on them and then they make some that have the wrong color or missing an item (i.e. Helmet) by accident.
The items with a # assigned to them are called "Chase", the ones that are not the same as the normal due to production mistake is considered a Variant.
There may be others that disagree with me but thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

I would definitly be broke if I knew about those.
may be not.
My first Chill had blue lips (3 pack). after a week I found out there was one with Purple lips. Since my son liked the figure and I liked the purple lips variation better than the blue, I broke down and got it. The purple one is the only one he plays at this point so it was worth it to me. Blue lips is at level 2 and Purple lips is at level 9.
Thanks for the heads up on the other variants, I will have to see if I have any that I didn't know about.
