In each level you can find at least one hat, in the 3DS game these are purely cosmetic items. You'll find them inside the presents that you can find in specific locations.

Each system has a different exclusive hat that is not on the others.

3DS has a Balloon Hat
Wii has a Happy Birthday Hat
PlayStation 3 has a Straw Hat
Xbox 360 has a Flower Hat
PC has a Bowler Hat

It does not appear to be possible to permanently unlock these hats cross-platform but they will remain on your Skylanders if you go to a different console with them equipped..



The Birthday hat is also in the 3DS version. Unless there's a different between the birthday hat and the happy birthday hat.

I know on Giants on the PS3 Version you can get a happy birthday hat if you buy it form Auric in one of his levels. I think anyways.

Yeah I'm just saying that it's not exclusively for Wii like the site is saying. And the Birthday hat is for both SSA and Giants.

That's just for Spyro's Adventure. The hats are no longer exclusive and all are in all the console versions of Giants (although the 3DS version still doesn't have them). And yes, the Birthday Hat and Happy Birthday! are different.
