but perhaps you would have a breath meter (the length of time you can spend holding your breath) like in RS: viking warlord

I hope not I would like to swim as long as I want. What If theres something in the water that needs to be collected and it's in a very deep water.

It would be more challenging if you had a breath meter and if you get in the water, you can't fly for a while because you're wings are wet.

Well, Spyro didn't need air when he was underwater in the past games. So why not, in DotD?
