Continuing a save game from the Wii with the Wii U version [CLOSED]

I'm considering buying a Wii U, but I wanted to see if anyone here has attempted the following:

Play the game on your Wii.
Buy a Wii U and migrate your data from the Wii.
Buy the Wii U version of Giants.
Continue your old save game using the Wii U game.

I am afraid that I will have to start all over with the Wii U version. smilie

You will have to. The way coding works will mean that this is not possible.

It'll be fun redoing thelevels in glorious HD.

For the record, I completed S:SA on the Wii and then re-did it when I got the XBox last year - it was quite fun.

The Wii U version of Giants is amazing to the point where you won't even care that you have to re-play. Especially if this is your first HD console. Full gamepad compatibility will revolutionize the way you play Skylanders, because now you can do it without occupying your television. Just go buy it, don't worry about your save.

Believe me, the Wii U version is worth it. The GamePad can be used by yourself if your family want to do something else, and if your using the TV, it shows the Skylander's stats and objectives(haven't found that useful).
