When someone is Riptoed, they're banned forever from the forums, DummyZ. They can't come back on again, at least not under the same username and IP.

maybe dark52 got fed up w/ her talking about leaving all the time and never following through. he called her bluff.

EDIT: actually nibelilt asked for a ripto on dark52's page. hahaha how hilarious is that. who asks to be ripto'd? these people are hilarious.

^People who feel like they can't be on anymore on the forums due to IRL problems, or something happening within the forums, so they ask for a ban. But then some of them suddenly change their minds at the last minute and say that they don't want to get banned.

Actually, bans are reversible - they're still on the database after all. It's just the idea is not to reverse the ban. IP bans are another thing - but there's no reason to IP ban someone who asked to be banned; unless they asked specifically for an IP ban (for whatever reason).

Nibelilt was so dramatic about being ripto'd. She'd ask for a Ripto and then she would change her mind. Then she would flip flop about leaving every other day. She finally put it on dark52's wall. And he followed through.

Hopefully we will be able to find her again if she does come back...

I think, by that, it just means that the account it unlikely to return - not necessarily the user themself.

It is possible for an account to become un-ripto'd - definitely is possible.

And it has happened on here before on a few odd occasions.

However, it's rare, most of the time someone's perma-ban is definitely "justified" as dark52 has a tendency to only ban with large amounts of evidence when it comes to some cases.

If they didn't...well....I'm not sure. There was one time when a user was un-ripto'd by accident. But since I was only told that, I can't be sure how truthful it is.

I thin I know the way users come back: dark52's email address. They send a letter telling him they want to go back, and he knows who it is, so he let's them come back.

I don't really get why you would want to be banned, you can easily just not log on for however long you feel appropriate.

Yeah. It's hard to describe. But you get this sort of......connection....with the website and the people on it. Not everyone gets it. But those who do have trouble leaving.

They'd feel like the betrayed everyone if they did.

The same reason you can go into a casino and asked them to ban you from their establishment because you have a gambling problem. It seems simple enough to just "Not walk into a casino and gamble" but for others it is not so simple.

It's called addiction. It is weakness and/or mental illness rearing it's ugly head.

Point made. i too have a connection, i come here at least once a day (except for holidays and when im lazy), maybe it's just the fact that it's hard to find a good community online. try naming one website that has a good community.

there is a user running around here with 76 in their name and some of their updates have revealed a certain character and pics they are crazy about. you can figure it out.
