Kay, you should all remember me getting this, kukuku. But this is not a thread for me to brag on but one where I want some help.
I tried to sync it to the USB reciever I have right now, which connected to another Portal, but...
It just won't work.
Boot up game, don't sync: no effect.
Proper sync procedures on both ends with Wii on and game off: no effect.
Boot up game, sync procedures: no effect.
What happens is I do everything the pamphlet tells you to do and I see the incredibly fast blinking sync lights, yet neither end will turn solid. They just keep flashing fast. No matter how simeltainiously or fast I press the buttons they will just do the blinking act then return to mild flashing.
I called Acti support, but they couldn't figure out if this was a problem with the Portal or USB so they only offered the replacement USB option.
The portal the USB reciever used to connect to is now actually dead... It just stopped working around the time this one shipped out for some reason, it won't turn on or anything even with new batteries.
I KNOW that this can't be because the USB was used with another Portal as I have heard of people using old USBs with new Portals and witnessed it once.
I should also clarify both are of the "Wireless Portal of Power for Nintendo Wii" variety.
I really want to get this sorted fast, and I'm gonna put an order on for a replacement USB if I can't figure this out today, but has anyone been in the same situation and found a fix? I really have my heart set on using this Portal.

Nay. Nobody I know plays Skylanders and the people who do only play Giants so they don't have wireless Portals.
Edit: I went into EB and one of the workers plays SA. Since just recently, actually. She keeps her Portal in the glass backing for display. (Sort of like when leaving your 3DS there was the hot thing!) Anyway, she let it to me and said it's fine as long as I return it tomorrow, which is easy because I need to put preorders on. Anyway, I tried it with my USB- THAT WON'T SYNC EITHER! Thus I conclude this is an issue with the USB... I find it hard to believe that it would just happen to not work with either. I'll probably just buy an SA Starter and swap the USB for a new one because I really don't want to wait for my new one to come. Cheapskatelilt. Edit again: So... I had all the Portals near one another while syncing. What's not meant to be within six feet of the portal? Metal. What are real gears made of? Metal. Oh god, such a wonderfulantabulouspectacularamazing design cannot sync because of this. :< |
