Who's going?

I'm seriously considering going if I can get some time off of work.
Plus, budgeting the trip cost + how much I would spend on toys while I was there.

Besides airfare, hotel, and food, you shouldn't spend anything. Toyfair isn't the type of show where you can buy items. It is a trade show for those in the toy industry - manufacturers, retailers, press, etc. you can't even attend if you aren't in one of those categories.

It seems cool, but I'm probably going to have to watch FGTV painfully.

There's your info. Unless you already know you're going you're not going. I myself have been putting together a toy related blog that I'll be getting live soon. I'm hoping by 2014 I can either get in via press or use said blog to join a more built site that can get me in. It's not impossible to count as press these days. That being said I know it's not as easy as just making a tumblr. Anyway, those who enjoy nontrue variants, get your evilbay sniper trigger oiled and cleaned

I think it'd be really awesome if Megabloks had some sort of special figure. Like a silver colored Spyro? haha

That being said, I think having some sort of Lightcore or Giant would be an interesting addition to have for the show. In a perfect world, there could be a Lightcore Prism Break with yellow glowing crystals as the Toy Fair exclusive, but I think we'll probably just end up getting a "spectraflame" colored regular character. If I had to guess, Pop Fizz and Fright Rider seem like popular characters, but a "precious metal" Flashwing would be neat too.

i dont live in ca. so i would probs not go.

I wish I could go, however no money and no time off from work. I wish I could get the toys from last years fair without having to pay ebay prices for one.

Does no one realize that you're not going because you aren't part of the industry? It's not something like comic con you can just go to. Time off work or not. It's all explained in that link.

I tried explaining that, but it looks like nobody really cares. Hell, I'm in NYC, so if anyone wants to fly out here and help contribute to the economy even though you can't get into the show, feel free to!

What I was saying is, I would have to take time off of my regular job to go.

I was actually hoping to take leave in February to go but from what I understand you have to be invited.

Not entirely true, but you do have to be in the Toy / Gaming industry in some capacity (Press, manufacturer, retailer, etc.).

Either way I'm glad I read this before wasting gas money getting there and back

You're assuming that all of us who commented aren't part of the industry or do press...or don't have multiple jobs where at least one is related.

This would be amazing. I love the color variants that have come out of the past toy fair so I wish I was going! I think I need a new job
