Mmm..I think you could probably do it with a level 1 character (leveling him up of course through the time you play on nightmare. It'll just take a longer time).

If you're looking to level up your character faster, do easy mode. Nightmare will make it harder to get gold and exp. Then you can just blast through Nightmare with your level 15 guys.

If you're worried about dying, just try to plan your attacks and remember to switch characters if you're getting ganged up on.

I just finished off Kaos.... It actually was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. (That's what she... oh nvm.) The only bad part was my level 12 Double Trouble got one shot by a sniper...
