I was wondering if the portals for one gaming console/system work with the others...meaning will the DS3 portal work with a Wii? I'm not worried about the actual game, just the portal. I have heard different things from Activision where they say yes they are compatible except for the xbox portal. I have heard them say no each portal is unique for that console.

Does anyone know or have anything like this? Has anyone tried using a diffferent console's portal?

I'm looking at getting the DS3 starter pack on black friday to get the punch pop fizz and GITD cynder and have a "spare" portal...but only if it will actually be compatible.

Thanks. DS3 is a term I use at work. It's obvious I need to spend less time working and more time playing Skylanders...

I had heard the 3DS needed a different portal because of the infrared/IR sensor...?? If this info I received is not true, does that mean I can use my PS3 portal with the 3DS version of S:SA and Giants??

3ds portal works on pc, ps3, wii and 3ds.

Wii, ps3 and pc portals are interchangable.

Xbox portal works on Xbox.

All portals will work for Universe.

Yeah, the 3DS Portal has a USB cord allowing it to work with everything but 360. The Giants 3DS Pack lacks it, though. It's interesting, but it's just something you need a certain kind of cord for, so it's A-OK as long as you got one...

I haven't got the Giants 3ds game yet, does the portal still have a mini USB port on the back like the old one. If it does, any USB to mini USB cable works. I have my SSA 3ds portal plugged into the pc via a 2 metre cable because the included one was too short.

It does have the slot, but it doesn't have the actual cord.
