Path Choosing for Variants In-Game [CLOSED]

I always choose the better path for pvp for my skylanders, but when it comes to variants i go the opposite path just for something different. how do you choose your paths for your variants?

Usually for variants (or at least the double of a character) I'll always go down the other path to see what it is. However, if there ends up being a third of a character, I'll go down the path that I liked the most.

Ex: Trigg I got with the game I went down the gun path. First L-Trigg I went down the coin..pot..path. Didn't like it, so second L-Trigg I went back down the gun path. S2 Trigg I ended up doing gun path again because I really love that upgrade haha
