Help - Skylanders Giants (Legendary / Regular) Figures Question [CLOSED]

Being a Skylanders noob, I'm thinking about buying the 3 pack legendary figures for Skylanders Giants however my son already has the same figures (Non Legendary). My question is if I buy the Legendary Packs do the charachters look different in the game or are they same?
If they are the same what is the point of buying the legendary figures?

The Legendaries are in-game variants. The answer "YES", they do appear different in the game. If you want a 100% complete collection of Skylanders that are unique in the game, buy the 3-pack. They also have higher stats.
