Legendary Figures / Regular Figures in the game ? [CLOSED]

Being a Skylanders noob, I'm thinking about buying the 3 pack legendary figures for Skylanders Giants however my son already has the same figures (Non Legendary). My question is if I buy the Legendary Packs do the charachters look different in the game or are they same?
If they are the same what is the point of buying the legendary figures?

The Legendaries are in-game variants. The answer "YES", they do appear different in the game. If you want a 100% complete collection of Skylanders that are unique in the game, buy the 3-pack.

They look different and have higher stats then their normal counter parts.

legendary versions of Ignitor and Slam Bam are also S2. and got their wow pow.
they also work as regular version on SSA.

S2's do got a wow pow on the 3DS... usually hidden upgrade on an attack, its stronger or stronger and faster. or even an hidden attack.
