Do they have any extra power in-game? Or is the only difference the pose and the lights?

They also have a lightcore blast when they go in game that kills everything when you put them on. But they do not have the wow pow.

Nope. It only works when you first put them on. (For instance, if you place the LC on while at Flynn's Ship, it'll do the "LIGHTCORE" sound effect, and blast open all the crates, but when you go to the level it won't do anything)

Other than that, the character actually glows so that's kind of neat. I wish there was more of an optional thing of where you could use the blast at. Like something you could choose from the Info menu

Actually, I got LC jet vac today, everytime you enter a level, it will do the light core blast, not only once per figure

The lightcores are actually pretty cool. I picked up my first lightcore last Tuesday (Jet-Vac), and I think the extra 2 dollars were worth it. Card is awesome, light-up effect is awesome, the figure itself is awesome. The explosion is useful too. If you were to get in a tough spot, such as being surrounded by Chompies and Drows in the arena battle in Chapter 3 in nightmare mode, if you haven't used a Lightcore in that level yet, you can switch to a lightcore and kill everything on the screen. Fun.
