i have my drobot from series 1 i have finshed all the ssa heroic challenges. i just bought the last 4 series 2 i was missing (non light core) and i noticed when i scanned them in, it said "heroic challenge unlocked" but my drobot has already completed them even when ive unlocked new ones with the s2s... im confused about what was being unlocked, if my drobot already had the challenges beaten...

When you scanned the S2 figures you unlocked the ability to access their appropriate HC's within the Giants game. Yes your S1 Drobot has already completed the challenges but he did so from S:SA.

For example I just placed my S1 WhamShell in Giants. He had completed 22 challenges from S:SA and registered in this manner. However wn he goes to Cali it only shows that he has completed six challenges. This is because I have only unlocked six of those 22 challenges in Giants.

Giants will track and reward figures from having accomplished HC's in the prior game but those challenges are not able to be played in any manner until their corresponding S2 figure unlocks the HC.

In my mind one of the biggest contoversies about giants is that only figures with orange bases unlock HC's for futher play.

Long story short: series 2 figures cannot access the heroic challenges in the first game, so they "unlock" the exact same heroic challenges in Giants. Your Drobot has already completed all the heroic challenges, so it will show them all as complete.

I don't know why there would be any "controversy". You can easily "purchase" the old heroics with in-game coins. This is even better than using the figures to unlock them, as you don't even need the physical figures to access all heroics!

You get 1 HC to start with and can purchase another 4. Choosing not to buy reposes leaves a lot of HC's locked for the new characters in Giants who cannot play in S:SA

I was dissapointed to see old heroic challenges brought forward. Why not NEW ones? So lazy!

Only 20 heroic challenges are even required to get all accolades. With the eight you get plus the eight you can buy in-game with coins, plus the free Cynder, you only need to buy three series 2 figures. People buying the Battle packs will end up with at least two. That leaves one more to buy.

Do you realize how many Heroics that would equal? We already have 50 per old Skylander(times 70), and 45 per new one(times 29), which means buying and completing everything you look to clock a total stat within the region of 4805 Heroics... and this isn't even including "Special" variants, duplicates, time wasted on failed attempts, or reset toys!

so erm. you can buy heroics ingame.
why not use another save-slot to unlock 4. run all the new chars trough. delete and buy 4 new ones and repeat.
wouldnt that way get you all heroics for the S2's?

The 4 you can buy are set ones. They all originally belonged to members of the nonreposed 8
