Yes, they are interchangeable I do believe. I think other than the lights on it they are the same. On a console platform one is wired and the one from S:SA is not.

I have personally used the Giants wired portal with Spyro's Adventure on the Wii. It works fine, but the portal is of lower quality overall, so I keep using the wireless portal.
