I am buying my son the Skylanders game for Christmas. He has a PS3. Should I just buy the Giants version or go for the Spyro version?

The game is fun, the Giants make the game even better, and the new characters are great!

No need to go for Adventure, it's worse in every way imaginable(well... Except for the 3DS version but I assume you are asking about the console one).

Yeah I just didn't want to go for Giants and have him totally lost.
I bought the Giants already and put it back but just wasn't for sure. Also just bought the Giants 4 pack on ebay with Hot Head, Swarm, Bouncer, and Crusher for $58

As a parent who's kids have the SA and really like it, I am also giving Giants for Christmas. I played the first few chapters in Giants and can say its a good game. But so is SA. However. Giants characters are easy to get and as a parent I'd say go for giants. You won't be chasing down figures for your kids and also any friends of your kids will have giants so your kids won't be a step behind forcing you to feel like you need to buy both.

The only thing I can imagine you getting lost with is the Lock Puzzles as I don't believe there are any instructions for them in Giants, but the idea is simple enough. You just need to hit all the gears with the imp in those.

also another thing of important.. you need one figurine of each element(there is 8) to get to all parts of the game... if you dont know.. so good to buy one of different elements instead of buying like 3 of one element and 1 of another in the start..
