It appears to me that the whole light core thing was really blown out of proportion. Seems that most people aren't very impressed with them. A few are cool (Prism Break, for example), but others are quite dull (Drobot, anyone?). I decided long ago that the only light cores I'll be getting are the giants, and I'm glad I made that decision because I'm hearing a lot more complaints than praise for them.

Same feelings here. I thought they were going to be cool, and I might of picked up one or two. Sadly, they don't have wow pows or the ability to switch paths. Plus, everyone is saying how bad they are. I like how the giants light up, but the others are kinda lame.

I would have blown them off, had they not registered in the Giants game. In the 3DS game, it shows your collection can number 99, while in the console games, it seems it will go over the 100 mark, as I am at 97 registered objects at the moment.

Not a fan of these myself. It's a cute idea, but I'd have much rather they focused more on making more unique characters than a quick gimmick that barely looks good if you use the portal. There's always hope for S3 I guess.

Yeah you're certainly not alone there. Light Core Drobot was the one I was the most excited for, till I saw his lighting feature then I got bummed.

I do have Prism Break and Jet-vac in light core. They are good. They have decent lighting. I plan to get MAYBE Pop Fizz and Chill in lightcore but that'll probably be it for the ones I get :/

Very cute idea, but I'm not the MOST excited about them either.

I'll still buy every last one of them though...

The thing that bothers me is that they are like $2 more for just a light up gimmick. I hate it when they do that, it's a waste of time, money and investment as they can save the resources for more Skylanders or even more of the later characters, but no they just had to make Lightcores. To top it off like some have been saying they don't even have the wow pow moves OR the patch switching ability?! It's literally just a series 1 Skylander with a new pose, a bomb impact that kills enemies when summoned and lights that make them glow. Not to upset anyone, but it really bothered me when I heard they can't do neither of the series 2 stuff. It's bad enough that they make buyers want to buy the same guy twice, but to not even give the abilities to others is just self aware and way to specific.

$2 Isn't that much and this gimmick to me is kind of cool. Is it just me or is it just satisfying to see them light up like that? THE PRETTY LIGHTS!

Anyone knows where Chill lights up? I don't have Chill yet and i'm waiting to buy the lightcore cause I'm not gonna get any other lightcore.

No. Skylanders has a whole is disappointing. I love the characters so much, but I think they only should have made one of each character and made different ones instead. And I agree with whoever said that they should have made all the new characters lightcore. They also shoulda made the game better. It's too simple and straight-forward. And boring. But I love the characters I want them all but I'm broke.

yeah. i'm gonna call shenanigans on that one. you can't even blow off a sticker book...

The light cores are not needed to 100% Giants and get all accolades. You only need 40 orange base figures. The standard 32 plus the giants are enough to hit 40. Light cores can be safely ignored.

My point is that even the worst obsessive players can feel complete without the light cores.
