Before I get my money from my Grandma (Helping her do some work) I can get 1 giant with the remaining money i got. So, Who should I get and what is good/bad about them

P.S. I am going to get Granite or Legendary if Crusher/Bouncer seem the best

And is there a difficulty selector at the main menu or do you have to beat every difficulty to unlock Nightmare?

Bouncer > Crusher but I haven't tried Hot Head.
And you need to beat the game on any difficulty to unlock Nightmare. You can switch difficulties just in Settings, but you need to start a new file if you want to play Nightmare(and you can't switch from Nightmare to another difficulty).
