Scene 1: Prelude temple

INT: temple night

Pitch black screen as we enter the movie

IGNITUS-NARRATOR:
In the year of the dragon, in a world beyond the realms

darkness is illuminated by a thick blast of fire from IGNITUS, which envelops and opens a sealed doorway.

IGNITUS-NARRATOR:
I, like all the others, awaited the birth of the dragon whom the prophecies foretold...

IGNITUS enters into a large dome-like chamber, filled with multi-colored dragon eggs. On the far end of the room, a purple egg on a velvet cousin sits in a basin with stylistic images of dragons.

IGNITUS-NARRATOR:
However, THE DARK MASTER heard of the prophecies as well... I should have hidden the egg's long before but I... I thought we were ready. I thought they would be safe... oh how I was wrong...

IGNITUS approaches SPYRO'S EGG, and stares at it briefly with an intense gaze his head slightly tilted. As he stares, the temple around him begins to shake.

VOLTEER:
UUUGHHH

IGNITUS turns, and sees VOLTEER stretch his neck out to look at him.

VOLTEER:
Go, Save it! There is no time for the others! The dark armies have come! Fly IGNITUS, Get it to safety

IGNITUS grabs SPYRO'S EGG and runs to passageway.

IGNITUS stops beside the entrance and looks at one of the basins. Inside the basin is an egg smaller than SPYRO'S EGG and grey in coloration.

IGNITUS looks down at SPYRO'S EGG in his arms

Brief slow motion shot of IGNITUS' eyes, as more stones fall. Then a violent shake.

VOLTEER moans on the ground as several chunks of stone hit him

VOLTEER:
aggghh! GO

IGNITUS looks up from the grey egg and darts into the passageway.

EXT: temple night

Ignitus lunges off a balcony on the side of the temple spreading his wings and flaps them quickly but powerfully flying away from the temple over the edge of the swamp.

Ignitus looks down and sees a few dark blurred ape-shapes running in-between the mushroom caps then he looks back up and flies faster.

when IGNITUS sees the river he lands and walks toward it cradling SPYRO EGG to his chest.

FX: ape screeches behind him and several pairs of eyes glisten

IGNITUS turns around and stands holding SPYRO'S EGG to his chest

IGNITUS places SPYRO EGG into a stray mushroom cap, and slides the mushroom into the river.

IGNITUS:
Farewell... May the ancestors watch after you... May they watch after us all...

IGNITUS watches SPYRO EGG float down the river for a moment, then turns at the rustling in bushes behind him.

IGNITUS:
Show yourselves!

closeup on IGNITUS' face as smoke drifts from his nostrils and mouth

fade to black.

Scene 2: River journey
EXT: SILVER RIVER DAWN

SPYRO EGG floats with the current downstream. The shore of the silver river is covered with many little mushrooms and further away from the banks are short bushes and tall mushroom trees.

As SPYRO EGG travels on it hits some rapids and is carried away from the main river toward a smaller stream.

As SPYRO EGG travels down the stream in the distance two flickering lights one blue and one light green dart and follow it among the mushroom trees.

EXT: RIVERBANK MORNING

SPYRO EGG softly washes up on the shore and out of the trees the blue and gold flickering lights are revealed to be TWO dragonflies FLASH and NINA

IGINITUS-NARRATOR:
Eventually the EGG came to rest in a distant swamp, and a family of Dragonflies Gathered ‘round wondering what sort of magnificent creature could possibly live inside
The egg makes crackling noises and distorts a bit as if hatching

Fade to black

IGNITUS-NARRATOR
They didn’t have to wonder for long…

IGNITUS-NARRATOR
What emerged from the egg at first startled and then amazed and astonished them

Fade from black to BABY SPYRO pawing at the ground and staring at the two dragonflies as they tentatively peek out from behind a mushroom cap to look at BABY SPYRO. They fly closer to BABY SPYRO AND BABY SPYRO YAWNS and tilts his head looking at them.

IGNITUS-NARRATOR
It was a purple dragon who they adopted and raised as one of their own. They named him SPYRO and he grew up alongside SPARX, who was born the very same day.
EXT: DRAGONFLY HOME EVENING

SPYRO walks around a mushroom looking around him. He turns to face a mushroom tree and a gold glint shines behind it.

SPYRO:
I see you my little glowing friend.

SPARX darts around it and laughs at SPYRO who tries to chase after him but is too slow

SPARX:
Seeing and catching are two different things.

SPYRO snickers and tilts his head back

SPYRO
You’d better fly, one of these days I might catch you
SPYRO chases after SPARX and flies past NINA who shouts at him

NINA
Don’t go too far dear I heard some strange screeches coming from that direction

FLASH flies up to her and smiles tilting his head to look at her

FLASH
Boys will be boys NINA, let them go, SPYRO can handle any creatures that show up, you know that.

NINA watches the forest with SPYRO and SPARX playing tag in the distance

NINA
I can’t help worrying though; I can’t help but worry...

EXT: FOREST EVENING
SPYRO chases after SPARX through the forest weaving around mushroom s and running through tall grass.
SPARX turns around to taunt SPYRO when suddenly a FROGWEED looms behind him. FROGWEED gobbles SPARX up.

SPARX
Help! SPYRO get me out of HERE!
SPYRO smacks FROGWEED with his tail knocking it over and SPARX crawls out of the unconscious FROGWEED mouth dripping with its saliva. He wipes his hands off and winces.

SPARX
Thanks, Now I smell just as bad as you!
Sparx quickly flies off.
EXT: SNAKE SKELETON TWILIGHT
SPARX turns a corner and flies into the mouth of a snake skeleton.

SPYRO
That’s cheating ! we aren’t allowed in there!

Sparx:
Don’t tell me you’re scared …
Sparx starts to fly deeper into the mouth

SPARX
Catch up or give up chunky!

SPARX flies out of sight. SPYRO squeezes in between the skeletal fangs and steps into a long cave made of the bones of the snake.

SPYRO(grunting)
So much for gratitude…

Spyro walks through the tunnel the walls are made of dirt and the ribs of the snake and the floor is largely covered in water with mushrooms around the edges. He tilts his head and hears sparx talk to someone.

SPARX:
Has anyone seen a large purple thing around here? I appear to have lost mine?
…
Aaaaaggghhh

SPYRO runs through the tunnel and out of a hole in the cave and sees several APES clustered around a APE LEADER who is holding SPARX in his hand.

APE LEADER:
I thought all you guys was gone?

SPARX
SPYRO save me from this buffoon

APE LEADER snarls at SPARX

APE LEADER
Quiet or I’ll crush you like the bug you ar---

SPYRO growls lunges at APE LEADER knocking him over then smoke curls from his nostrils and he breathes fire at his feet. APE LEADER let’s go of SPARX then snarls and runs away with APES.
SPARX stares up at SPYRO in shock
SPARX
You nearly roasted me!...wait…
SCENE 3: Decisions
EXT: Dragonfly Home Night
SPARX SPYRO NINA and FLASH are their home and talking. SPYRO winces as SPARX speaks
SPARX:
SPYRO let loose some serious flames and scorched the baboon, nearly turned me to ashes .
NINA and FLASH sigh and look at each other.
SPARX:
I’m not lying, SPYRO tell them!
SPARX looks to SPYRO who looks down at the ground and swishes his tail.
SPYRO:
It’s true all of it…
NINA and FLASH fly close to SPYRO’s head and NINA looks mournful
NINA:
I knew this day would come, FLASH It’s time we told him
SPYRO:
Tell me what? that I’m some sort of creature, that I’m not your real son?
FLASH:
You are OUR real son we raised you from birth after we found your egg on a mushroom cap floating down the silver river.
NINA
We may not know what you are SPYRO , but we do know who you are.
SPYRO looks ashamed at his outburst
SPYRO:
I Just don’t know what to think.
FLASH:
What we do know is that when we found your egg we no longer saw lights and smoke far upstream. It is possible that you were sent so that you might live.
NINA shakes her head.
NINA:
With any war it is always the innocent who pay the highest price.
SPYRO shakes his head and looks startled.
SPYRO:
I, I need To think, This is just too much
SPARX:
You lied to me too, what am I supposed to think now
SPARX then flew off into the swamp and disappeared from view.
FLASH:
Don’t mind him SPYRO; you know how hot-headed he can be.
SPYRO leans against a mushroom and looks up at the sky and sighs.
SCENE 4: reflection
EXT: swamp hillside NIGHT
Spyro sits on a slightly grassy hillside looking up at the stars. He blinks and yawns sleepily
FLASH flies up next to him
FLASH:
Tired?
SPYRO nods and looks at FLASH and smiles.
FLASH looks a little antsy and his wings beat a touch slower
FLASH:
You haven’t come out here in a while; I remember you used to come out here every night and watch the stars.
SPYRO looks back toward the stars.
FLASH:
Come on now, you are never this quiet. What are you thinking about?

SPYRO blinks and continues to look up.

SPYRO:
What am I, if not a dragonfly?

FLASH sighs and flies a bit closer to SPYRO

FLASH:
I don’t know. But what I do know is that you are precious to all of us.

FLASH smiles slightly

FLASH:
I hope someday you understand that.
SPYRO nods and looks at FLASH

SPYRO:
I’ve been thinking, about leaving, I mean. I want to stay here but If I don’t leave, I may never find out who or what I really am.

SPYRO shakes his head and looks at FLASH

SPYRO:
I just don’t know anymore. What do you think I should do?

FLASH sighs then lets his eyes wander

SPYRO closes his eyes and falls asleep on the hillside while flash watches over him

FADE to:
EXT: morning swamp Path:
SPYRO walks along a path shaded by large mushrooms. The path is dry and pebbled.

FLASH(echo):
SPYRO, Only you can ever know what is best for yourself. Relying on others for answers can only take you so far, what truly matters is what is in your heart.

He looks around as he walks eying the surrounding forest nervously.

Overheard apes dart from mushroom to mushroom unseen by SPYRO

An ape Cries behind SPYRO and his PUPILS shrink and he gulps nervously

Oooooh, hello! This looks good

Hey, you should thank Skywanderer, she had the time to write this!

//thanks Brightscales anyway I wrote a touch more. that seems to be the best thing with my scedule writing in little chunks in between coursework and stuff.

Spyro then Runs further along the Path as the apes start chasing him.

He runs past mushroom after mushroom then gets to a small ravine which he jumps over

he runs a bit more and notices that the apes are gone.

He then collapses in a grove of knit together mushrooms and pants.

Spyro Wakes to find SPARX looking at him.

SPARX:

Oh goodie you woke up.

SPYRO grunts

SPARX:

Well anyway dad told me you had left to go 'Find your destiny' or some other nonsense.

So I figured I should go after and....you know keep you out of trouble like the helpful Big brother I am.

SPYRO rolls his eyes

SPYRO:

Right...

SPARX grimaces and turns away from spyro.

SPARX:

So where we headed?

SPYRO gets up and drags himself out of the mushroom tangle they walk over to a cliff Overlooking the Silver River

SPYRO:

Upstream.

Looking good.

I had up to about half of this (My own version) on my USB stick, my laptop was just formatted so I couldn't do much work..

Since I've been a slacker in sending it, it looks like I've been replaced.. I didn't have enough motivation for this, I guess. :/

Anyways, great work on the script! Much better than mine! Keep up the good work!

EXT: mushroom forest: dusk

SPYRO and SPARX walk through the mushroom forest.

SPARX:

Are we there yet

SPYRO:

nope.

They walk a bit further

SPARX:

Are we there yet?

Spyro grimaces

SPYRO:

No...

They walk a bit further over a small stream.

SPARX:

Are we there---

SPYRO:

the answer is still no.

They walk further and the swamp noise gradually fades away until all that is head is spyro's footsteps.

SPARX:

I don't like this. It's too quiet.

SPYRO looks around nervously and shakes his head

SPARX:

This is really freaking me out I wish somthing would make a sou---

FX: ROOOOOAAAAAAAARRRR

A shadow appears behind them

SPYRO and SPARX run. then after a distance they stop to catch their breath.

SPYRO:

What was that?

SPARX:

I have no idea but I'm going this way... far from it.

SPYRO and SPARX walk further into the entrance of a large cave.

INT: IGNITUS CAVE DARK

IGNITUS/NARRATOR:

Which Brings us to the moment in which we met again for the very first time.

SPYRO and SPARX walk through the cave. the walls are covered in mushrooms glowing a faint blue.

Suddenly the see a shadow in front of them and spyro spits fire out at it.

With the burst of flame they see a huge monsterous figure in front of them.

SPARX:

AHHHHHHHHHHHH

SPYRO prepared to run

IGNITUS:

wait!?

SPYRO and sparx stop and look at IGNITUS

SPARX(whispers):

and I thought you were big.

IGNITUS:

You're.... you're alive?

IGNITUS looks sorrowfully downward at SPYRO and SPARX then turns away from them.

IGNITUS:

but it's too late... too late...

SPYRO darts around to look at Ignitus face to face

SPYRO:

Too late for what? Who are you? Do you know me? Whre do I come from? What are you? What are We? What am I?!

IGNITUS looks shocked

IGNITUS:

you mean? you mean you don't know?

SPARX flies up to ignitus

SPARX:

DOES It sound like he knows?

IGNITUS crouches down to look at spyro and murmurs

IGNITUS:

You're a dragon. when you were an egg.. It was my job to protect you, My job... to protect all of you.

SPYRO:

There are others like me?

IGNITUS

Others? There were.

Guardians that is and we had but one job: ensure that all of the eggs were hatched

IGNITUS looks up toward a small hole in the ceiling where one moon is visible through.

IGNITUS:

It was the year of the dragon after all and our very survival depended on those eggs.

IGNITUS snarls

IGNITUS

but the temple and grotto are now gone....overrun by....

SPYRO twitches

SPYRO:

Temple what temple? can I see It. where I come from I mean?

IGNITUS:

No, no no, who knows what forces occupy the temple now, what state it's in.

IGNITUS shakes his head

IGNITUS:

you don't understand after they came for you, the purple dragon spoken of in prophecies a dragon born only once in ten generations.

IGNITUS bows his head to look at a surprised SPYRO

IGNITUS:

you...

SPARX looks shocked and points at spyro

SPARX:

Him?

SPYRO's some once in a purple thing? wow that's a bit ofa stretch.

SPARX chuckles

I've heard some doozies in my day but this one takes the cake.

IGNITUS:

spyro is it?

well Spyro I assure you that I am indeed telling the truth

Ignitus stratches his wings and looks up again

IGNITUS:

The dark armies attacked intent on destroying the eggs and killing the rest of us

They nearly succeded and then they lay seige to the land.

IGNITUS stares at camera

IGNITUS

We were at War...

Sweet! This is WAAAAAY better from the game!

I'm kind of worried about length and how much we are going to have to cut.

granted most of that is baboon fights and platfoming but still it has quite a bit of cutscenes.

there needs to be a balance of conversation and fighting.

I also don't know how to handle sparx's involvement in fights short of serving as a distraction or running and hiding.

also with the first part it is a good idea to show how relatively powerless he is against his foes so that he grows as a character both in physical strength and in personality from being a bit cowardly to a bit snarky and brave.

If it becomes too lengthy then we could always cut it into two parts.

Me personally, in fight scenes I can imagine Sparx just flying to a safe reach out of the enemies then saying something like, "Yeah, you get 'em Spyro! While you're doing that, I think I'm just gonna wait.. over here."
I think he'd generally keep out of Spyro's way, shouting encouragements every now and then. Of course, when the time comes he probably wouldn't mind flying away. I've noticed throughout the games he pretends to act tough, but stays out of the way.

I think it would leave a nice effect if we developed Spyro's personality slowly throughout the scenes. It would make more sense logically as well to improve his techniques in battle as we progress throughout the movie, it wouldn't make much sense if he was a master of combat in his second brawl.

IGNITUS:

For many years we fought across all the lands, These terrible brutal clashes with the enemy, the armies of the DARK MASTER

Apes walk across a dark battlefield full of mud and puddles.

IGNITUS:

He was intent on changing the prophechies, changing his own destiny.

IGNITUS and TERRADOR smash through waves of apes and CYRILL and VOLTEER attack from the air spitting lightning and shards of ice upon the battlefield.

IGNITUS:

It was I and the other guardians that led our small but valiant forces into battle against this ruthless mercenary foe.

smoke disapates across the battlefield

IGNITUS:

We won the war, sealed away the dark master to the dark realms beyond when a terrible force came to steal away our victory

CYNDER flies above the battlefield out of the smoke

IGNITUS:

CYNDER was.. is... monsterous...horribfic feroucous a black dragon that filled the skies with terror. she... tore apart the battle field.

IGNITUS and VOLTEER gape at the sky in fear.

the battlefield location fades o leave ignitus gaping at the cave ceiling

IGNITUS:

all I and volteer could do was retreat and watch in horror

there we fled like cowards. back to the temple, back to the only place that felt safe in a world of malice and fear.

IGNITUS:

Where I set your egg adrift on the silver river in the hopes that you would never know the wars and terror that fill the world today.

Ignitus blinks away a tear.

IGNITUS:

They still hunt me.

IGNITUS gulps

IGNITUS:

even today. when I wonder what might have been, what else I could have done.

SPARX:

wow this guy sounds...fun.


SPYRO blinks and looks sad.

SPYRO:

You just told me, that I'm some sort of purple dragon and then you tell me all is lost!

That I have no origin, no where to go. I won't be like you. I've come too far I won't give up not now not ever.

SPYRO stands a little taller.

SPYRO:

I want to see where I come from.

SPARX waves his hands at spyro

SPARX:

hold up savior boy were you not listening. he's talking about death and wars and horrible....bad things.

IGNITUS nods at sparx. then looks back at spyro

IGNITUS

Spyro, Its not as simple as that.

Its true The prophecies are vague about how you would put a stamp upon this stage.

SPYRO

I want to try I want to take the first step.

IGNITUS turns and moves deeper into the caves.

IGNITUS:

You deserve to see your beginning before it all ends.

SPARX:

we are all so doooooomed...

I want critique on how I'm characterizing Ignitus as well as the not-quite cannon pieces.

An ape howls and a group of them run out from a side passage.

APE LEADER:
well ignitus, what a surprise. You've managed to cover your tracks quite well.

Until now.

APE LEADER gestures toward IGNITUS and SPYRO

APE LEADER

GET HIM!

IGNITUS BREATHES out a line of fire and the apes dart around unwilling to advance

IGNITUS

stand back spyro and you might possible learn what a dragon is truly capable of.

IGNITUS then looks at APE LEADER and raises an eyebrow

IGNITUS:
are you AFRAID?

The fire dies back and the apes attack IGNITUS.

IGNITUS grabs two and slams the against each other.

he then breathes fire at APE LEADER who runs.

one smacks him on the side and he cumples in a heap as the advnce closer and closer.

IGNITUS then winks at spyro and creates an explosion outward.

the apes then run away screeching.

SPARX

How... just How...

SPARXs jaw hangs open

SPYRO

I've never seen you dumbstuck before, sparx.

SPARX shuts his jaw.

SPARX:

I wasn't dumbstuck. I was just yawning very slowly.

IGNITUS sighs loudly behind them.

IGNITUS:

you wanted to see the temple. ruined as it may be.

come on.

IGNITUS breathes fire at the door and it opens.

all three walk inside.

I've been trying to put a bunch more humor into the story. keeps it from getting too dark and keeps it enjoyable

I want this to be somthing that fans of all three series can enjoy a rousing adventure with elements of all three series reflected in it.

anyway critique is good If no body critiques it won't be as good as it could be.

TRAINING: INT: TEMPLE EGG ROOM

IGNITUS SPYRO and SPARX walk into the TEMPLE EGG ROOM.

SPYRO stops to look at the pool and then looks all around the room.

IGNITUS trudges on. he looks backard with his left eye and flicks SPARX with his tail.

THEY WALK toward the door to the training room which opens.

IGNITUS

AH home sweet Home.

THEY WALK into the room IGNITUS continues on toward the balcony exit but spyro stops in from of the MAlefor statue in awe.

IGNITUS sneers for a moment and then spyro follows him.

THEY Walk through the door to the balcony.

TRAINING: EXT: temple Balcony evening

SPYRO IGNITUS and SPARX move to the far ede of the balcony

SPYRO and SPARX look astonished.

SPARX

SPYRO We're not in Kansas anymore.

IGNITUS smiles a touch but still looks sorrowful.

The three look upon a vast sea of mushroom tops with the silver river apparent in the distance.
SMOKE fills the sky and in the distance fires can be seen

IGNITUS

this is what cynder has done. she has conquered both the lands and the sky with her armies

SPYRO

I wanted to see where I came from... I didn't know it was going to be like this.

SPARX flies next to IGNITUS's head

SPARX

yeah no offense but this place is a bit of a dump.

IGNITUS

THis Was once our home spyro. togther we can make it our home once again. to reclaim what is rightfully ours.

SPYRO looks a bit confused

SPYRO

what do you mean?

IGNITUS sighs once more and shakes his head

IgnituS

I mean my time for heroics is past. but with your help we might just have a chance to beat cynder.

SPYRO

I I can't I just learned what I am.

IGNITUS smiles and leans down to look at spyro

IGNITUS

You can SPYRO you can. You are a purple dragon a very special creature.

You've given me hope again. now its time to bring hope to all of them.

IGNITUS looks out at the horizon.

SPYRO

I don't know how I could help. but I will try. I will try

IGNITUS chuckles.

IGNITUS

Good Now Follow me. we have a great deal of work ahead of us. but before that I have somthing to show you.

INT: Temple Egg room

IGNITUS SPARX and SPYRO look at a crystal growing out of a wall.

IGNITUS

These are spirit gems. cultivating them is both a sort of hobby as well as a necessary habit. they can be used to store dreams, memeories knowlege, even energy.

they can be used to teach but are not the prefered method. unfortantly there isn't much choice in the matter.

Ignitus winces

IGNITUS

SPYRO, lean against it and let your mind go blank.


spyro places his forhead against the crystal and closes his eyes.

I like the gems being used as a mode of training. It makes more sens,e given the lack of time they are faced with.

its sort ofwhat I figured just from how ingame experience worked as well as how ignitus described them ingame.

I kinda wanted to have a nod to ingame.

I'm still thinking out spyro's moves for te training sequence.

should we use the animate dummy thing from in game or should we go more toward the idea in that eternal night commercial where people outside the training area visualized stuff for the people inside the circle to fight?

INT: TRAINING ROOM

IGNITUS SPYRO and SPARX stand in front of the MALEFOR statue

IGNITUS

while merely knowing how to fight is indeed important there are other far more useful skills.

IGNITUS looks up

IGNITUS:

If you are going to have a chance against cynder you will need to learn far more, far quicker than ever before.

SPARX:

great. School.

IGNITUS smiles knowingly.

IGNTIUS:

this will be unlike any school you've ever known SPARX.


THE floor opens up and the malefor statue rotates and slides into the dark depths.

IGNITUS:

now... its time to release the true dragon within you.

IGNITUS

EAch of us guardians is master of an element, I am master of fire as you may have surmised. while it is possible for dragons to use more than one element it is extemely rare and such individuals rarely master any of them. There are of course exceptions.


when the floor closes again IGNITUS nudges spyro with his foot inside the circle of floor.

IGNITUS:

well, go on.

SPYRO walks to the center of the floor and sits. Sparx flutters off to the side near ignitus.

SPARX:

well?

IGNITUS glaces at SPARX and shakes his head.

IGNITUS:

just Watch

SPYRO fidgets in the center of the room. A shadow falls over him and SPYRO reacts sweeping his tail under the legs of the DUMMY knocking it to the ground.


SPYRO then turns away and looks at the DUMMY. his eyes widen and he steps away from it.

SPYRO:

what is that thing?

SPARX flies up to spyro laughing

SPARX:

you...should. have.. seen the look on your face.. priceless...

SPARX countinues to laugh.

IGNITUS muffles a laugh

IGNITUS:

IT's not real spyro its just a dummy. anyone outside the circle can visualize somthing for individuals inside the circle to fight.


SPARX raises an eyebrow and smiles

IGNITUS:

oh course you do need to have some intellegence first.

SPARX glares and him and grumbles under his breath

SPARX:

off all the no good, stupid.....

IGNITUS

now try fire first.

Montage with spyro attempting to spit fire in the room. the first attempts produce nothing, then smoke, and finally he produces a little fire.
SPYRO looks excited at that and jumps up and down flapping his wings a bit

SPARX flies over to IGNITUS as they watch SPYRO spit out larger and larger flames.

SPARX:

IGNITUS smirks.

IGNITUS

it took nearly a month of practice for me to breath fire, And I was considered to be a quick student.

SPARX opens his mouth as if to say something

SPARX:

I wanted to further the amusing douche image carried from Enter the dragonfly onward. (purple putz)

sparx also uses humor as a coping measure throughout the LOS games.

IGNITUS: Ok Spyro, now use the dummy but to use it you must imagine your worst enemy. I cannot help you with this one but I am certain that you can manage this part on your own.

IGNITUS smiles and chuckles

IGNITUS: Magic. This dojo was specialy crafted with the finest materials and built by our ancestors. The Dragon Temple was used for training young dragons like yourself to prepare them when they are on there own...

IGNITUS let's out a sigh and frowns.

IGNITUS: But you are one of the last young dragons and I had failed to save your brothers and sisters and to let the dragon generation continue...

IGNITUS looks down to the ground ashamed of himself, SPYRO walks up to him with a small smile.

SPYRO: IGNITUS, it was never your fault for loosing them. You saved me and I think that counts as a great effort.

IGNITUS looks forward to SPYRO and gives him a smile.

IGNITUS: Yes, yes I belive it does. Come on, we won't want to loose our train of thought now, not while you have brought up your dummy.

SPYRO: Ok, I am ready. Teach me your attacks!

I came up with a but of a more emotion to the dojo scene. It is not much but I figurded that I could give it a go.

IGNITUS

NOW

another dummy leaps down and spyro slashes at it with his claws in a diagonal motion and sweeps his tail at the dummys legs knocking it down.

IGNITUS slightly smirks.

EXT: DRAGON TEMPLE POOL ROOM

SPARX is leaning against the seeing pool. he then yawns. IGNITUS barely looks up at spyro and SPARX.

SPARX:

Wow that was a long day. I'm beat.

SPYRO shakes his head and rolls his eyes at SPARX

SPYRO:
because complaining takes so much energy.

SPARX:

no SPYRO flying is. not that you would know.

IGNITUS rolls his eyes and tries to ignore them.

SPARX flies between IGNITUS's head and the pool

SPARX:

So whatcha doing

IGNITUS scoffs and straightens his neck while sparx flies around him

IGNITUS

If you must know, certain dragon have the ability to see visions the thoughts and dreams of others occaisonally even into the future or at the very least occurences happening in places far far away.

IGNITUS twitches his wings and looks back down at the pool.

IGNITUS

I am one such dragon.

SPARX crosses his arms and looks at IGNITUS at the corner of his eyes and smiles.

SPARX:

Oh is that so. okay then what am I thinking of now.

SPYRO smiles.

SPYRO:

animal vegetable or mineral.

SPARX

Haha vey funny.

IGNITUS

Yes it’s not that simple. it’s like looking at a blurry reflection of a reflection. It takes time and patience to discern what is true from all the smoke and mirrors.

IGNITUS:

one thing that I have been able to discern is that the other guardians are alive and in captivity.

IGNITUS shakes his head.

IGNITUS:

unfortunately I have only been able to locate one. VOLTEER.

I only hope that after this long he does not blame me for fleeing, for trying to save myself.
SPYRO:

IGNITUS

He resides in Dante's freezer, a frozen northern waste of constant war, a battlefield of frozen warriors trapped in constant struggle.

IGNITUS grimaces then pauses in a moment of reflection as SPYRO and SPARX look at him

IGNITUS

even the apes tend to avoid that place as superstitious as they are.. I wonder... I wonder...

IGNITUS sighs and shakes his head and shrugs his wings.

IGNITUS:

but no matter. SPYRO you will have to travel there alone. I need time to locate the others time that we might not otherwise have if I was to go with you.

SPARX:

oh and what about me?

IGNITUS tilts his head and looks at sparx

IGNITUS:

while I would advise you to stay here, I do need silence for my work and with your constant statements of your constant boredom that challenges even my patience

And remember if you do encounter cinder, run you are not ready to face her yet.

SPYRO:

IGNITUS smirks and then begans to smile wider and wider

SPARX flutters next to spyro and mutters

And here I thought he was depressed, he’s practically glowing now.

IGNITUS chuckles and smiles.

EXT BALCONY DAY

SPYRO sits on the balcony IGNITUS leans behind him and sparx flutters nearby

IGNITUS

take a deep breath now and empty your mind. feel the power of your ancestors coursing through your body. in times of crisis they may come to you unlocking powers you never knew you had.

SPARX:

this I got to see. all this mumbo jumbo ancesters nonsense.


IGNITUS

just look at everything you thought you ever knew, forget yourself. Only through forgetting can you remember what your ancient blood already knows.

SPYRO slowly flaps his wings harder and harder he starts moving toward the edge of the balcony then leaps off with his wings spread SPARX follows him as they sour toward the sun

IGNITUS watches them fly off and whispers

EXT: CLOUDS MORNING

first person

blackness but the sound of wind is heard.

SPARX:

Ok spyro whatever you do don't freak out

Spyro blinks a couple of times at blurry blue and white clouds then blackness again.

SPYRO:

what..?

SPYRO blinks and sees the blue sky sharpen and looks downward at the ocean below. he forgets to flap and starts to fall. then he rights himself and looks to his right where sparx is flying alongside him who chuckles.

SPARX:

SPYRO and sparx fly over battered walls sunken into the ice.

SPARX: this place looks nasty. lets find you a place to land.

SPYRO and sparx slow to a smooth spiral over the ruins.

Sparx gestures toward an open courtyard.

SPARX

there looks good.

SPYRO Gulps and slows the pace of his wingbeats

SPYRO flails his wings and they descend faster toward the courtyard

EXT: DANTE'S FREEZER Courtyard afternoon

SPYRO hits the ice and skids in a 360 degree spin until he comes to a dizzy abrupt stop just in front of a wicked looking metal fence sticking out from the snow and ice.

SPARX:

cut it a bit close there?

SPYRO stretches his limbs starting with his wings

SPYRO

probably ...oUCH!

SPYRO folds his wings back to his side

SPYRO:

why do they ache so much


SPARX facepalms then flutters over to spyro

seriously dude. we just flew for what? a couple hours? even I'm tired. not to mention that you've never actually flown.


SPYRO rolls his wings in their shoulder socket

SPYRO:

yeah maybe this flying thing ain't for me. either way I'm not flying until my, wings hurt less.

SPARX:

either way we need to find Volteer.

SPYRO:

IGNITUS said that he was guarded by some apes.

SPARX

maybe we should see if some are out scouting and follow them back to their base.

SPYRO and sparx walk out into the maze of passages open to the sky

EXT: Dante's Freeze Ice fortress evening

SPYRO and sparx walk past a number of frozen armored bone-zombies in the ice.

SPARX:

this place gives me the creeps

SPYRO looks at sparx out of the corner of his eye

SPARX flies in front of the face of one

SPARX:

I mean seriously, whats with all the frozen dead things everywhere

ZOMBIE thing blinks behind SPARX

SPARX looks behind him and sees ZOMBIE thing is motionless once more


SPYRO continues to move and sparx quickly flies up to spyro

SPARX

I swear that thing just blinked

SPYRO:

just keep moving.

Then a crash is heard from behind SPYRO and SPARX.

Out of a white cloud of Ice crystals that fades away leaving the broken ice where the Bone-Zombies crawl out of and then turn to stand and face spyro.

SPARX flutters next to spyro

SPARX

we are so toast.

Then the Lead Bone-Zombie flexes his fingers over his sword and leaps swinging his sword down toward spyro

Spyro dodges it and knocks the lead Bone Zombie to its knees it crumples onto the ground and is still

SPYRO

no they are

Spyro spits out a line of fire at the encrouching Bone-zombies


One Bone ZOmbie reaches into the fire and it bursts into flames that nibble at it.

the Zombie pulls its arm out of the flame and it no longer has a left hand.

fromthe buildings above an ape watches and screeches a signal.

With that cry the Bone-Zombies turn away from SPYRO and turn to face the apes.

spyro stops the torrent of flame and coughs

SPARX

lets get out of here while bone-thingy is distracted

SPYRO

Good [more coughing] idea.

They run further down the passage and duck into an alleyway with torches lit alongside doors

on the wall a dragonlike symbol in red and black of a dreadwing adorns the wall.

SPYRO:

think thats supposed to be cynder?

SPARX:

is so then she is uglyyyy

SPYRO tilts his head and closes his eyes

SPARX;

hear something?

SPYRO nods then moves to one the windows in the alleyway

Spyro peeks over the ledge and sees a number of apes siting at a table and sipping from leather mugs.

APE 1:

I still don't see why we have to stay here the crystal's charged and that Ice king is cornered in his frosty frone room with that dragon.

APE 2:

the cold's far worse than the battles. Hear that wind? it'll be a cold one tonight. I don't relish flying on a night like this

APE 2 looks backward toward the window and spyro and sparx duck down.


APE 3:

at least your dreadwing likes the cold, mine refuses to do anything other than sleep except when she scents that dragon. don't know why cynder wants him kept alive. he's next to useless with all that jabber

APE 1

cursed things, Cynder included.

APE 4:

what about the dark master he was a better sort.

APE 3

you mean worse

The apes roar with laughter at that and APE 2 thumps APE 3 on the back
