New Portal Questions [CLOSED]

I have a few questions about the new Portal on Wii. I have the portal and figures now, but the Giants game is for Christmas. Anyway, does the new portal not work in Spyro's Adventure? I was so disappointed that it doesn't recognize it! Also, do all the new portals not glow on the sides like the originals? I was bummed that the symbols seem to be carved black this time.
