his hands DON'T light up, this question has been going around for some time and its confirmed that only his head lights up. If someone happens to have a hot head with glowing hands then post a picture.

The base only glows through the light of the portal, there is no lightcore technology in the base.

Wow it really does look like the base lights up, maybe it looks that way on the 3ds portal only.

EDIT: just tried him on the portal with all the lights off, the portal's glow makes it look like the base is glowing but it isn't.

I don't think so.Maybe there are some "defect" HotHeads were the base doesn't light up.

Takadox, I think you are mistaken with the base lighting up. I wish it did light up but unfortunately no hot heads do, it is not a defect. Maybe one day the base or hands will light up in future hot head releases.
