Portal of Power compatibility [CLOSED]

I would like to know if the Portal of Power included in the Skylanders Giants Starter Pack is universal and interchangeable for PS3, Xbox 360 & Wii version ? What about 3DS Wireless Portal of Power one ? Does it fit on any game systems via USB ?

I have a glow in the dark Portal of Power and I would like to use it on other systems. Like a Wii U ; so I need a clear answer about this.

the 3ds version didnt come with a cable this time smilie

but USB = USB.

so ps3 will work on wii,xbox and visa versa.

it was said somewhere on the SSA part long time ago.

they all work with the pc and with their console version.
what does pc and the console version have in common? the same type of USB port.
conclussion. every console has the same USB port.

False. Every portal can connect to a PC. But not any portal can connect to any console. From what ive heard, the Xbox 360 portal is unique. I have heard you can use Wii and PS3 portals interchangable though. I can't confirm this, but don't just assume that USB is all you need. Its a software issue, and each console has different codings and different software.

If you look in the manual for the Portal that came with the Wii Starter, it does mention how to connect it to the wii u, so I guess any usb portal will work with Wii U!

How does the 3DS portal connect? Can you use a USB (aka PS3) portal with the 3DS game?? I am debating about getting a 3DS XL for Christmas but am wondering about portal compatibility as well... does the 3DS operate completely separate from the USB portals? Is this consistent with both the 3DS S:SA and Giants portals (or might the S:SA game work with a USB portal if Giants doesn't?)?? Thanks so much in advance for your help!! smilie

Both use InfaRed with the 3DS. Both can connect with other consoles (except 360) and PCs using a USB port but this is only included with SA.
