After much boredom, I've decided to try to 3-star every level on Nightmare Mode. During my first Nightmare Mode quest, some of the later stages took me upwards to 30-40 minutes to complete. I played extremely defensive and had every battle scene scripted perfectly to lure and single out problem enemies. Additionally, my first run was a pseudo-nuzlocke challenge where I could only successfully progress to the next stage if my three "main" Skylanders survived. I managed to solo Kaos on Nightmare Mode today with Series 2 Whirlwind. Her Wow Pow ability, regardless of what folks on this site believe, is fantastic for bombarding computer enemies. Her ability to launch a tempest cloud while retreating has always been nasty, but now the move can be spammed as carelessly as Drobot's lasers. Anyway, I have a spark of hope that Nightmare's time trials are indeed possible. Wish me luck as I brave (very) possible suicide!

If you can do that, then I shall call you GOD.
I'm not even gonna attempt the first level until I have my Skylanders maxed out.

So far so good. My Wii doesn't seem to like loading the stage magic items, though. I'm using them often as a "free pass" to speed through lengthly, problematic battles. About 10% of the time, my Wii freezes and makes a high-pitched screeching sound.

Maybe your Wii doesn't want you to attempt it.
Your Wii is saying: "No AchereonXComplex, NO!"

Off topic, but how do you access nightmare mode? I have completed the game, but when I go to the difficulty change menu, I can only choose between the original three.

I think you need to start a new game for it.

i also want to complete the game in every way in nightmare mode.
but i cant do this until i beat it in hard mode, and then start a new save file? so basically the first thing i want to do is just rush threw hard mode to finish it, then start a new save file, to begin nightmare mode? can i delete my old hard mode save file after then? |

I still haven't gotten 100% on Hard. Sort of waiting out for the Wii U version before I clock Easy, Normal, Hard, and Nightmare 100% on different saves. I still plan to 100% Hard and do something with Nightmare on the Wii though.

I have almost completed Nightmare mode 100% some days ago, I just haven't got around to finishing the adventure pack levels. But if you're not including them, then... Finished
When you've got the right Skylanders, the only problem with Nightmare mode is getting hit by the enemies and losing such a drastic amount of HP. |

Not that I know of, unless you're looking for an easier way to level up or get money (without using glitches).

I got 100% on everything in Hard today except for some Time Goals.
I won't even bother starting Nightmare until at least I get Sprocket, but I'll probably save it until I get the Wii U version. |

Still haven't started yet.
Might do it soon, but I'd like to wait for the Wii U version at this point to be honest. |

People make Nightmare Mode out to be more bad than it is.
3-Staring every level is easily doable. All you need is a maxed out character like Ghost Roaster or Drill Sergeant down the Fear Eater or Megadozer path. Maxed out means Heroics, too. Then it's a question of remembering what to do in each level, in order to progress through each level, and it is totally doable.

I completely forgot that I started this thread!
Anyway, I managed to relatively easily perfect Nightmare Mode a little under a week ago. GameMaster78 says it perfectly. Playing on Nightmare Mode requires memorization of all the stages. Once you have played through a stage enough times, you'll have absolutely no problem completing it perfectly. Keep a notebook or a loose piece of scratch paper handy to jot down the areas that give you trouble. By the time I reached later levels, I had my strategies down to a science. If you own the stage magic items, like Pirate Seas or Empire of Ice, you can rely on them to clear an entire screen of enemies at a time. This is extraordinarily helpful for speed-running. My duo of awesomeness (Ignitor S2 Soul Path and Whirlwind S2 Tempest Path) breezed through almost every stage with no difficulties. I found myself using Whirlwind far more than expected. In fact, I soloed most stages with her without taking damage. Seriously, folks! If you believe her Wow-Pow doesn't make her a formidable threat, you either are using her wrong or are way too overly fixated on pvp combat that you aren't giving her a fair chance. Ignitor made his presence known during boss fights and against bulky enemies with punishable attacks. If you use Ignitor right against Kaos, he'll hardly find opportunities to summon robotic minions. You receive nothing but personal gratification for scoring a perfect on Nightmare Mode. It's definitely doable. Planning every battle scene is vital to your success. |
