Hey guys,

New poster here. Addicted to Skylanders as well. I have all of the released legendary packs that I display in the studio I record all my podcasts in. More and more I'm being tempted to open them and use them in the game. My question is, what did you all do with your legendaries? Did you open the pack, or leave them sealed?

I was thinking that I always could buy a second set to open, but finding the S:SA legendary packs may be a bit tougher.

So, should I open them, or step back from the ledge?

Leave them sealed! you can still use them in the packaging!

I'm not able to use the webcode to activate them in the iOS versions os the games though. Playing with them in the packaging seems wrong, but that may be my best option right now I guess. Maybe I'll keep trolling the local TRU, maybe I'll get lucky one day and find another set

You live in canada? Otherwise you can link your portal to the webgame, get and their code from there.....

Yes, I do live in Canada. Hmm.. if I drop the characters on the portal and do an "Update Code" from the character menu, that would give me a new code right? Not sure why I haven't tried that... I'll have to give it a go and see if it works

I love just looking at the detail of ALL the figures. I can't keep them all cooped up in that packaging

Lucky! you guys have Battlegrounds! We down here in the US don't have it yet...Oh and yeah, try the Update Code thing... I have no idea where that is as Universe hasn't worked for me since 2 weeks ago...

Open them. They're not that rare, but totally worth opening. Especially Legendary Bouncer.

Not yet! We have Lost Islands though. I've been playing it for the last day or so and am digging it.

Dont know why you have to leave them sealed, they will probably be worth nothing in 10 years, so just open them and enjoy them!

Thats up to you man. I haven't opened mine from the S:SA game (None of them sept the doubles). You can play with them in the packaging. But its ultimately you're call.

When I get the Legendaries from Giants I plan to keep them boxed. You can; much like someone has already said. Pop them on the portal on the Online Universe (Register the toy to your account) then you can view the Webcode when you click on "You're Collection" menu. It'll give you the code without having to snatch them out of the beautiful packaging their in.

OR just get a second set and yank them out and leave on in the box...you're call

I'm opening mine. The only ones I have sealed are flocked Stump, Glow Zap, and Blue Bash.

Open, Open, Open, and Open! - They are toys! - Play with them! Unless you wish to sell them right after Christmas on eBay when there is sure to be a demand, they will never be worth much more than they are right now. Play and enjoy them, I have a Rock Zook, and Flocked Stump Smash, they are the only 2 I haven't opened, and that's mainly because I plan to sell them and buy the remaining Giants and Series 2 figures.

Open for your own sake. Several of them are worth using, and do you really want to jam a triple pack on the portal whenever you feel like using L. Ignitor? It would get very old very fast, if you ask me. Buy a spare set if you want to save them.

This is good advice for an adult collector. My son opened his, and at first I was upset as I had explained the value,,, but after he said "I just want to play with them...", I quickly realized it was fine, I got him some not so easy to find items and he wanted to use them how a kid uses toys,,, and that's okay, why did I get them for him?

Open them. They don't have much value.

The ship is safer in the harbour but it's not meant for that.

Open them and have a blast using them.

My rule of thumb is to open it if it looks different in-game. This is facilitated by Gnarly Tree Rex not being in packaging in any case.

Of course, GITD Cynder not being in packaging ruins the symmetry for me, but c'est la vie...

last time i was at TRU, just before Giants released, they had a buckton of Legendary three packs and Trigger Happys. The way I see it, they' trying to give away these things. If you want one in the seal package, I would buy another set. THey are easier to find than the variants.

I had a real war with myself--I'm more than a little OCD, and it was hard at first, but I've opened all of my figures. (I have them all except the variants.)

For me it came down to the fact that they don't have any real "value" except to me as a player and collector. I enjoy displaying a few of them out on my shelf (in rotation), it's easy to grab the ones I want, etc. Storage is a LOT easier too, most of them go in a single plastic box under my bed--no idea what I'll do with the Giants though, they're too big for the box.

It's your call, of course, but the thing is Skylanders in general are worth only how they can please and entertain you. If having them in the package makes you happy, by all means leave them in the package. But if all of your other figures are open, I think you already have your answer.

Much like ZapNorris, I left my Gummylanders in their packages. There was no reason to open them since they didn't have any in-game differences from the originals. I also left my silver Boomer in it's package.

Silver Boomer, yes. Blue Bash, I can't resist. I need to get my hands on one...
