I went to Walmart today and they had a big cardboard bin near the electronics department with licensed character plush/throw sets. Among various characters pictured on the side (Disney stuff, Adventure Time, and I think Hello Kitty and Marvel), they had a picture of Skylanders Spyro, so I went to take a closer look. They are advertised as "throw & pillow set," but you'd have to be desperate to use him as a pillow since he's not very soft. There are no markings indicating Walmart exclusivity, but they might be getting them first.



He is manufactured by The Nothwest Company. If anyone's worried about availability like the Just Play plush at TRU, he shouldn't be hard to find as there were at least 4 of them on top of the bin and who knows how many were buried underneath. Each character pictured on the bin was in there so I assume he's the only Skylander in the bunch.
He's a little reminiscent of the bipedal classic Spyro plush made by Play By Play, I would've took a comparison pic but my old Spyro is in the basement somewhere D:
The tag says he's 11" tall, I misplaced my ruler so just take their word for it, and the fleece throw is 40"x50." I didn't take it apart yet but it looks the same print as on the tag - just a bunch of s1 Spyros with elemental symbols.
He was only $9.97!
This was found at the Walmart in Elgin, IL.

Haa! Just so happens our WalMart got these in yesterday. Got my Spyro. He's too cute! Of course, I'll be going back for Jake from Adventure Time also! Thanks for the heads up on these. This is the first non Skylanders game related thing I've bought. Not really interested in the other plushes until Bash comes out.

I got this the other day and it is awesome. My only problem/nitpick with it is he is missing his tail spike.

The main aisles either by electronics or domestics. Where the sheets, curtains, etc are. In a big cardboard bin.

I'll try another Walmart tomorrow (there are 2 diff ones within 2 miles of my house, lol)... they were unloading a truck at the one I went to tonight, so it could be on that truck shipment too!! I'm excited cause the other large plushie I got from TRU has light-up horns with a mini portal, so it's not too snuggly with those plastic horns!! hehe That one is made well and detailed enough, no complaints but he's just not as snuggly as this lil guy looks!! Can't wait to find him here!!

I've checked three of them and it's also not listed online I found a shelf at one location that had a bunch of Disney (Tinkerbell and I think Dora and some other stuff) and other characters as the Plush & Throw sets, but alas, no Spyro...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. I started playing before it became a craze, but eh, it didn't hold my interest for longer than a day, if even that. The monsters feel like watered-down Pokemon (no offense to anyone who loves these lil guys of course)!

you're lookin in the wrong area. its in a big random cardboard box thing in the middle of an aisle. it has various ones like spyro. spongebob, sonic and a few others. the blankets are crap. they're small too. they're not in the childrens bedding section. i just happened to stumble upon them.

bought mine from a movie store in the mall. I forgot the name of it though.

Ended up getting one for xmas, parents bought it for me off ebay for $20.
Double the price and honestly if you can't find this, you aren't missing much. I've never been huge into Spyro but I love skylanders so the plush is acceptable to me but I feel most die-hards would be disappointed. The blanket is a super cheap one you'd maybe throw on your lap while watching a movie, definitely nothing you'd actually use to sleep in.

If you find it for $10 great but I wouldn't go out of your way for it.

Hey I forgot this the other day. I went to a Walmart on Thursday and I happened to be walking near the back where the fabrics and stuff was...and what did I find in the metal bin?



These guys are back, or at least the store I went to had a few left. They were also now reduced to $7!

I went to TRU today, and they had Spyro and Chop Chop, in the Skylander section at the R-Zone. Found at the South Elgin, IL TRU.

Spyro looks the same but has a few minor changes - the tail that curves to the side instead of up, and now has his tail club. The wings are completely orange, and his legs are slightly thinner. His throw is blue with elemental symbols and Spyros, so a different color from the Walmart one.
ChopChop's throw was grey or navy, I forget. His bones are printed on in addition to being fabric. They probably don't glow in the dark, but if you saw them it would make you think they would. You wouldn't think he would look nice as a plush but they made him look very nice. No sword or shield, he is too small for the Halloween props.
They had about 4-5 each, I don't think there's different ones in the assortment. Same maker/tags(no store exclusivity mentioned), same rough fabric.

I scanned one and it said "was $24.99, now $19.99" Pricy, but if you're a fan of Chop Chop, I say go for it.

Sorry for no pictures, I didn't buy either and have no camera phone, you just have to take my word for it.
