I'm going to try and make a "history textbook" about the Skylanders and stuff like that. It's going to be the second post of this topic. This way, we can put all of the info we know and create a "timeline." This is probably the weirdest thing I've ever done.

SKYLANDERS
A HISTORY

CHAPTER 1 - GIANTS: THE FIRST SKYLANDERS
10,000 years ago, Skylands was invaded by a powerful empire of robots known as the Arkeyans. They enslaved the Mabu and forced them to build idols and other stuff. The creators of the Arkeyans are unknown, because we don't have many writings from that time. Eight creatures who were very huge decided to form a special group. They called themselves the Skylanders. They freed the Mabu from enslavement. After that, they decided to do some training so that the Mabu could see how strong the Skylanders were. In the end, Bouncer was the top-ranked of the Giants, and the Mabu erected a gold and blue statue of him. Bouncer was the first Legendary Skylander. The Giants went and faced the king of the Arkeyans, Arkus. He controlled an elite army of robots with his Iron Fist of Arkus. When Tree Rex, one of the Giants, detached Arkus from his Iron Fist, the robots shut down. But, Arkus' spirit used the Iron Fist to banish the Giants to Earth. Also, the gold and blue statue managed to get to Earth, too. The Earth Giant, Crusher, had a special spirit. Part of it was made of Granite. So, as the Giants got further away from the magic of Skylands, the spirit was split into two, and the newly created Granite Crusher went to Earth. Ninjini, the Magic Giant, had the same problem. Ninjini named her lamp Scarlet, and when the lamp separated from Ninjini, Scarlet Ninjni was born. Tree Rex always wanted to be a Gnarly tree. So, his spirit split and one half was turned into Gnarly Tree Rex, which was the color of the Gnarly tree. The Giants were never found for a long time.

CHAPTER 2 - PORTAL MASTERS
This period of time is known for having actual world peace. According to writings from that time, there were no Skylanders. A few writings mention "Heroes of Skylands" protecting the land, but there is so little evidence that nobody can be sure. But, one of the hobbies of the era was stepping onto Portals and magically transported to another location. These Portals could only be operated by Portal Masters. You were either born with the power of being one, or not. Near the end of the era, Eon and Kaos were born. When Eon grew up, he discovered a tablet describing the Fall of Arkus and the Giants. He decided to get a new group of Skylanders, because he noticed that a new force called the Darkness was spreading. Kaos was controlling this Darkness, and the Skylanders were formed.

CHAPTER 3 - GENERATION I MODERN SKYLANDERS AND THE CORE OF LIGHT
Now, Eon has gathered 32 creatures that had amazing powers, most notably Spyro the Dragon. When they trained, Spyro, Bash, Chop Chop, and Trigger Happy were the top ranked fighters, and the Mabu built gold and blue statues of them, and they became Legendaries. Eon was the last remaining Portal Master, and the Skylanders helped him protect the Core of Light, a device that was built to help keep the Darkness away from Skylands. The Skylanders had been banishing Kaos to the Outlands ever since Kaos tried to take over Skylands. But, now, Eon was very old, and he knew he was the last Portal Master. Kaos knew this, and attacked the Core of Light. After a long battle, Kaos' Hydra blew up the Core of Light, sending all of the Skylanders to Earth. The Legendary statues were banished, too. Spyro has the power to absorb the Darkness and become Dark Spyro. While crashing into Earth, Spyro was split into two and Dark Spyro became a separate being. Eon died in the explosion, and his spirit contacted new Portal Masters that were on Earth and told them to find the Skylanders. They did, and the Skylanders came back to Skylands and fought Kaos. Eventually, the Core of Light was rebuilt and Kaos was banished to Earth.

CHAPTER 4 - GENERATION II SKYLANDERS
After Kaos was banished once and for all, eight more Skylanders joined the group. The Skylanders still helped protect Skylands, but there weren't any plots to destroy Skylands or anything that major. There was another training session, and five more Legendary statues were erected: Ignitor, Slam Bam, Jet-Vac, Stealth Elf, and Chill. Now, Kaos was trapped in a toy store, and found a Portal that he could use to get back to Skylands. He was teleported back to Skylands, and accidentally awakened an Arkeyan Conquetron. Kaos decided to use it to find the Iron Fist of Arkus and rule Skylands. A guy named Ermit saw this, and reported it to the Skylanders immediately. Hugo, Eon's assistant, decided to send some Skylanders to Earth so that the Portal Masters could help. Hugo sent 24 Generation I Skylanders and the eight new ones. Hugo decided that eight of the Generation I Skylanders should stay in Skylands. The Legendary statues were also teleported to Earth. Eight of the 32 Skylanders nearly collided with the sun, which created clones of them that could light up and send powerful blasts of light out at enemies. Pop Fizz was drinking a red potion when he came to Earth, and he split and one part became Punch Pop Fizz. Double Trouble was probably using a spell at the time, because he split and one half became Royal Double Trouble. Whirlwind usually turns white when she gets scared. She was a little scared during the decent to Earth, and she split and Polar Whirlwind was born. Part of Flashwing's soul is made of Jade, so she split during he decent and out came Jade Flashwing. Hot Dog nearly collided with the sun, but instead of getting a LightCore clone, he got Molten Hot Dog. Meanwhile, some of the Portal Masters found the Giants underground. So, when the Skylanders reached Earth, they were with the Giants. The Portal Masters helped the Skylanders defeat Kaos, and the Conquetron was destroyed. Kaos returned home, claiming to have 37 more plans to take over Skylands.

a history book does seem a little like a waste but if you think about it, it could be a topic for everybody who needs info on skylanders, I would continue this topic about the skylanders but I wouldnt know what to do when the next game comes out.

Okay! I finished the book! It's four chapters long and explains the Series 2, LC, and variants in the most logical way possible.

how about talking about the story in more detail

I'm just using the basic idea so that there is more room to write about those crazy ingame variants. I really hate those ingame variants.
