Is there any special content that is unlocked in Giants with the old skylander?

I read some interview a while back that seemed to indicate that they'd each get a new heroic challenge. So far, none of those seem to be there.

Only Reposed characters unlock a new HC. Their old one, you have to buy...

Camo,Warnado,Wham-Shell,Ghost Roaster,Dino-Rang,Sunburn,Boomer,and Voodood don't unlock their challenges, you buy those too...


Fun Fact: Chop Chop's New HC (only unlockable with S2 Chop Chop...) is Cynders challenge in SSA!

Who and where do you buy the S1 challenges from?

yeah, i havent gotten too far into the game, but you're saying you can purchase the heroic challenge ins the game from auric? Or are you saying we have to buy them by buying the series two figure.

Long story short:

Series 1 figures can only do series 1 challenges.
Series 2 figures can only do series 2 challenges.

Series 1 challenges can either be done in the first game, or bought from Auric in the second game.
Series 2 challenges are only unlocked by adding the series 2 figure to your collection in-game.

Series 1 Figures can do Series 2 Challenges.

While we're on the subject of S1 challenges, the Golden Dragon Chest from Pirate Seas works in those. A nice way to multitask upgrade buying with Heroics.

Where do you buy each of the un-reposed skylanders' challenges from auric? i know sunburn's is at start, camo's on ship, ghost roaster's at troll home security, wham-shell's at cutthroat carnival, but where are the others?

Second one first. Giants unlock challenges, but there is no discrimination. Giants are just big skylanders, and their challanges are for everyone.


The way I understand it is that the series 1s can't get stats from series 2 challanges, but they might be able to complete them. If you want to max out the characters (like I do), I think all you have to do is make sure you have at least one of each of the 48 characters. The HC's you buy are just HC's from the 8 characters that didn't get reposed. Since they arent being rereleased, the HC for them get put in some other way. But if your series 1 has all 32 HCs, then the only thing you need to do do the 16 new character challenges with the series 1s. It is my guess that the new max heroic challenge level is 48.

HOWEVER, I am no certain on this, and it seems like no one else is either.


Also, I found an article that did a little research into the stats thing. You might notice that you series 1 characters are lower in stats compared to S:SA. This is because they leveled out the heroic stats in order for you character to not get "too overpowered". Basically, 32 heroic challenges is the max the characters get in S:SA. But 32 is only two thirds of the challenges in Giants, and therefor, your stats suffer that fraction as well. When you max out you series 1 skylander in Giants in HCs, your stats should look the same as in S:SA, pending the minor stats changes of course. (A good way to measure this is looking at the Elemental Power stat. All character's elemental stat is 100 when they are properly maxed out.)


Again, all of this is just my guess from what i've seen. I wont be able to play my game until this weekend becaue i work all week, so I wont be able to hands-on test this myself. There is also a rumor that Series 2 Cynder's HC is available for all characters, she she's an exception because she is a starter pack character.

Another note about Heroic challenges: yesterday I put the 3 lightcore figures on and unlocked the challenges. I was dreading trying to complete Drobot's with a giant (I've been focusing on Swarm). With the first game, I tried to get the challenge done before upgrading to far on any given figure. It hasn't been mentioned yet to my knowledge, but the challenges that are carried over from S:SA may vary slightly. In Drobot's case, you only have to beat 55 green chompies. I also think one of the paths is different, making this challenge slightly easier. I'm going to try get some more info on challenges today, by trying out some things in S:SA and S:G

It did for me.

I have a fully maxed Ghost Roaster, who was sitting at 32 Heroic Challenges. Once I got the new game, and did a new Heroic Challenge that gives +4 Speed, his maxed out speed stat of 67 went to 71, and it showed him having done 33 Heroics. So, yes, Series 1 characters can do new Heroics and their stats can go higher than the first game.

I feel sorry for the new characters now. The potential for extra stats on S2 will just horribly outshine them.

OK, so I'm confused. Can I only buy the old challenges from the 8 non-reposed characters? Or all of the old 32 challenges?

This whole thing really disappoints me. I wanted NEW challenges for my old figures!!

For instance, Arachnid Antechamber (Sunburn) and Flip the Script (Camo) both had their armor bonuses changed to speed bonuses this time around. I'm not sure how a lot of other challenges changed, since I don't have a lot of S2 characters, but I imagine rewards have been reworked to even out the stats of the new guys with the returning characters.

now wait a minute, i think you're missing something. Ghost Roaster is 71 speed in Giants? Turn on S:SA and see what Ghost Roaster's speed stat is there. I bet it's higher.

Here's the thing. The challenges are really the same, even when they're different. If your series 1 Skylander had the ability to do all the series 1 heroics, all the series 2 heroics, the 8 buyable ones, and the 16 new ones, then your max hero level would be 32+24+8+16=80, which is impossible. If you have the series 1's, then do the original 32 in the first game first. And when you go to giants, you'll be able to icrease your heroic challenge, but you'll only be able to do the non-reposed challenges. And you stats will be reset, but your heroic challenge remains the same.

My Prism Break finished Fright Rider and Chill's Challenges.

My Hex today managed to beat Warnado's, Her own, Bash's and Flamesligner's HC's.... Of course that's in SSA as I don't have Giants yet...

I don't know about the stats being adjusted when a S1 is in Giants, but I did notice that my Flameslinger, who had completed all of the S:SA challenges, already had a star next to the challenges that I bought in Giants.
