Seeing that some members enjoyed Evening: A New Legacy, I decided to make another A New Legacy story! So without further adeiu I give you Chapter 1 of Malefor: A New Legacy!

Chapter 1

The Chronicler walked along the rows and rows of dragon eggs. He kept a tally of how many of each type of eggs there were. He knew that every Year of the Dragon there were one million eggs, but this year there was an extra egg, it was purple. "The prophecy has come true." The Chronicler muttered, running to see the dragon elders and tell them of the extra egg. The elders all laughed at the Chronicler, saying that the prophecies never came true, but four believed him, they were Dragsooth the fire dragon, Thraklor the earth dragon, Zygoren the electric dragon, and Blissthalan the ice dragon. They all followed the Cronicler into the egg chamber where they saw the purple egg. "Amazing," was all that the usually open mouthed Zygoren could say.

"We must protect it at all costs." The Chronicler said. We will transport it to my fortress where you four will train it when it hatches. "Yes sir!" The dragons obeyed. Carefully, Dragsooth the strongest flier lifted the purple egg and they flew towards the Chronicler's fortress. "Just follow Leviathon! He'll show you the way!" The Chronicler yelled after them. "What is a Leviathon?" Thraklor asked. "My guess is that." Blissthalan said, pointing his snout at a large turtle-like creature.

The four dragons followed Leviathon to the Chronicler's fortress where they carefully entered, working together to solve the puzzles. Then, when they entered the Chronicler's temple they placed the egg in a small nest of sand that had escaped the giant hourglass in the middle of the room. None of these dragons would be ready for what hatched from the egg.

Chapter 2

Dragsooth, Thraklor, Blissthalan, and Zygoren watched over the egg for many months until the day of its hatching finally came. Dragsooth was the first to hear the egg, and he called the other dragons to him. The four dragons watche in awe as the first purpled dragon hatched out of its egg. It looked like all of the other dragons, except it was a dark shade of purple. "Should we begin to train it now?" Thraklor asked. "First of all its a he." Dragsooth said, "Secondly we should name him before we start to train him." "So, what are we going to name it?" Blissthalan asked. The dragons tossed around names that were obvious for fire, earth, electric, and ice dragons, but none of them seemed to fit the purple dragon. "Why don't we just name it Malefor?" Zygoren asked. At the sound of the name Malefor the baby dragon did a little flip. "Then its settled, his name is Malefor." Dragsooth said. "Now, about his training-" Thraklor begain. "We will train the dragon back at the dragon temple, for now we must raise Malefor like our own son." Dragsooth cut in.

The four dragons fed Malefor until he was an adult, then the dragons flew back to the temple where they showed all of the dragons who once laughed the purple dragon. Everybody was amazed and astornished at the sight of the legendary dragon. Malefor grew up in the temple, and then one day he learned fire. "This is ridiculous." One dragon whispered. "He's not a fire dragon, why should he get to learn the ability of fire?" Another asked. Malefor heard all of these dragons, and he became angry, but he kept his anger inside of himself, which would be the cause of his home's ultimate doom.

Uh-oh. Ultimate doom!!

He's gonna do a crazy awesome fury-type thing! I know it!

Chapter 3

Malefor was continuously ridiculed behind his back and he was growing angry. Every passing day of his life his bottled anger grew more and more wild. There were moments that he couldn't control himself, and he suddenly attacked a dragon. As time went by, the anger began chaning his scales, they changed from purple to gray and from gray to black. Soon, he was more of a shadow than a dragon. One day, a passing dragon simply laughed when he saw Malefor.

"That does it!" Malefor snarled. He floated into the air and summoned his abilities, letting his anger course through his body. His darkness began to pulsate and ripple around him, he empowered it with a mixture of fire, ice, earth, and electricity. Then, he added wind, fear, poison, and an odd looking ability that seemed to be shadows that danced and leaped like fire. As Malefor used his attack, he cracked the very walls of the temple, and soon only a few rooms were left.

Many dragons glared at Malefor with distrust, and even Dragsooth, Thraklor, Blissthalan, and Zygoren turned their backs. Malefor became solitary, and everybody's distrust grew as he brooded his anger.

This story is well detailed. Poor Malefor, the other dragons are cruel to him.

I've realised something, you named the guardians after the breaths in ANB. I was gonna do that in my Malefor fanfic but I forgot when I wrote it. Kwl story!
