No store around me has said they've seen them but the ToysRUs employee I asked said if he did he'd take it himself. :<

An employee at one of the walmarts in appleton said they had 3 rock ones, all bought at midnight by one guy.

I got lucky and found a Rock Zook. It was the first variant that I have seen (not including store exclusives and readily available variants), after lots and lots of visits since the first game came out. I visited Toys R Us, 2 Wal Marts, 2 Targets, 2 Game Stops and 2 Hastings on day one and 2 and was there when they put the stock out at all but the two Targets and Game Stops. I looked in about 40 unopened boxes of singles and triple packs all together and found 0 variants. The Rock Zook I did find was wheeled out on a Skylanders Giants cardboard display at the second Wal Mart I visited. It did surprise me that none of the stores I visited seemed to have employees that picked through the boxes ahead of time. I expected to see opened boxes with 1 figure missing, but saw none.

From Activision, yes.

I have both of them.
I saw 2 of the Rock Whirlwinds at a TRU, both in the triple packs. I gave one to a mom that couldnt get to the figures before they were gone.
I got the Rock Zook in a single pack at Walmart by asking an employee, so I recommend acking ALL employees in the electronics area.

I found my Stone Zook randomly while looking through triple packs at a local Toys R US store on day 1 and on day 2 I got my Stone Whirlwind by asking a Best Buy employee which he brought it to me from the back stock

Same here, I'd LOVE to have the Rock Whirlwind. Still haven't been lucky in my hunt either

Are the Rocks only found in America so far? I've been looking at work but nothing yet, although we've got lots of boxes, not sure if ther's been any aussie sightings yet.

Would you pay $150 for Rock Zook, because that is the current asking price. Even if you find one in store, you could sell it within minutes for $150, so it is essentially costing you $160 to keep it.

Either way, it's madness.

Someone's found them in UK if I remember right, but I wouldn't even bother looking in Australia. I didn't. I wouldn't rule out the possibility we didn't get any Wave One variant stock (by which I mean Stone, not Cherry Lips) other than Glowie because otherwise someone would have reported it by now.

True but as I said we've got lots of boxes still, it's possible, i've asked the girls at work to keep an eye out for me.

I hate collecting sometimes especially when something like this happens, lol, I don't need it, I already have zook from s1, but I want s2 and I want the variant..damn it

I saw one Aussie rock variant on EBay last week so they must have been here but maybe our smaller economy of scale has meant we have not seen (m)any yet?
