So just like the title suggests, i would like any opinion on which portal starter pack i should get. Should i get the walmart eclusive with the glow in the dark cynder and portal, or should i use my 10% employee discount and get the normal one at target?

Do you want the GITD Cynder? If you do, then get the Wal-Mart exclusive. Otherwise, save the money and get the regular one at Target.

the portal in walmart with cynder is the best one.... it makes it glow in dark as well, the new portals are actually worse than the wireless one only due to the fact they have less lighting going on like on the sides and such. But the Walmart's one make it less painful + wired = less batteries.

I vote Walmart. The portal is freaking awesome.

Forgot to mention its a 360 version so it is wired. Im more interessted in the portal. Could someone post a pic of the walmart one compared to another? I also heard that the new portals are better and brighter than the last ones

That last one was aimed more toward the post before you czs. They said i would save on batteries which wasnt a factor. So what is the diffrence between the two portals? One glows in the dark apparently but how? Is it cause of the paint used like with cynder?

I LOVE the glow in the dark portal, buy keep in mind if you sit far from the game system it doesn't work. TFB NEEDS to make one of these for SKYLANDERS 3 (assuming it comes out), but with Bluetooth option built in so you could have the option of plugging it into wall across the room into a USB wall charger. It looks awesome on top of the battle arena lit up. I never thought I would say this but I really like the battle arena too. I initially thought it was a rip off buy with the Toys R Us sale, I thought why not try it out. They look really cool together. You can put a lot of figures crammed together on it for quick clean up and access (not having to pull them out of the storage case). Especially handy when I have the glow in the dark portal on it and I'm concerned about someone tripping over the cord. LOL

can you post a pic of the glow in the dark portal compared to a normal one?

My vote would be for the Walmart exclusive one. It would be pretty easy to get a regular Cynder late if you wanted one, but no so much the GITD.

Regardless of how it functions, I kind of think the old 360 portal I had looked cooler than the new one.

see i plan on getting the 360 and 3ds one. The 3ds started i am getting at target since i have my discount there so i will have both cynders regardless ok so tomorrow when i get paid i'm getting the walmart one. what i had wanted to hear is how it glows in the dark and thats been answered, many thanks

So it is the Walmart exclusive portal that has the ridiculous clear sides? I was so relieved when I saw that my portal didn't have the see-through sides that I had witnessed in the preview videos. Why would anyone want their stone portal to appear translucent?

I am annoyed that the symbols are now painted over, unlike the original's lit symbols.

I actually got sick of waiting for my GITD portal to arrive from Germany so removed the plastic exterior of my existing one and created an exterior from a bag of diamonds I had lying around the house.
