So, I remember in several interviews they said that series 2 figures would have improved stats. So far I haven't noticed any difference between the two. I even checked them in the first game to make sure they didn't mean series 2 characters had improved stats in Spyro's Adventure, but so far there's nothing. Was this just a lie to try and get us to make us more accepting of series 2 characters?

Depends on the character and depends on how you want to calculate that stat.

If you look at the raw number, 80 equals 80.
But if you take the percentage, 80/100 is more than 80/150.
Finally, some of the starting stats are just flat out different if you look at the cards.
