I don't know about you, but once I get my hands on Sprocket and Hot Head, I'll have everything I REALLY wanted from Skylanders Giants. Wave 1 was actually really fantastic, and had all of my favourite Giants right from the start. I'm only getting Hot Head because I want a new character from the fire element, and you all know how much I want Sprocket. But after that, none of the characters are that appealing to me. Hot Dog looks fun, but he's going to be released so late that I'll be sick of the game by then, Flashwing has a really unappealing figure, and Ninjini, Eye-Brawl and Thumpback are completely uninteresting to me. I might not even buy the rest of the new characters since I'm really not that interested in them. Though I have poor willpower, so if I ever see them in stores I'll probably end up buying them.
So I was wondering, do any of you feel the same way? Or are there characters you're still excited to get?

I only care about the new Giants. I won't be getting LC or S2.

The only ones I want for anything other than collecting purposes afterwards are Hot Dog and Series Two Prism Break, actually. Not to say I'm not looking forward to the other characters, just that those two are the only ones I REALLY want. (And I even agree with you that Hot Dog will probably come too late for me to really love him.)
Hark, I think how Acti have decided to... Oddly... Handle releases this time... Has made me lose interest in the Wave system totally, to be honest. I hope this doesn't become a recurring thing for the rest of the series. :T |

It's funny how months of excitement and anticipation can vanish so quickly. My son and I won't be playing until after Christmas, so we'll still be enjoying the game when the last couple of waves hit.

Hime; it might last longer this time. I was with you last year; great game right when you got it, but no staying power. This time, there's stuff to spend all that useless gold on, the card game, longer levels with more to collect, difficulty settings, and other safeguards to be sure that it's not dead in a week and something you drag out just to humor the kiddos. I was there with you on that one too with SSA, but from what I've actually played so far (which has been admittedly limited), it shouldn't be quite the waste of money SSA was.

I'm just the opposite- all of my favorite giants aside from Tree Rex are coming out in the last waves. That's probably a good thing, since I'll end up getting Swarm, Bouncer, and Crusher. If Thumpback, Eyebrawl, and Ninjini were out now, I might have passed on the others later.

I think they messed up by releasing wave 2 immediately. There are now no new figures released until after Christmas. It's great that they released 13 of the 16 new figures already, but for all we know, we will still be waiting for the final release of Thumpback in April of next year, just as we waited for Wham Shell.

I'm the opposite..sorta. There are a few I really want coming later; hotdog and thumpback to name a few. I dunno most of the new characters don't appeal to me either, but now I'm finding myself being sucked in like I was last time. So who knows.
