I think it's pretty clear Series 2 release is not like Series 1 release. Series 1, the Skylanders was a new concept. Even Activision was surprised at it's success. Towards the end of Series 1, you can start to see Activision squeeze every last bit out of the product line with the overproduction of the Legendaries and overstock at the stores.

Series 2, although there was a mad rush to pick them up on release day, when I went to Target, TRU and Gamestop on day 2, there were PLENTY to go around. The only thing that's hard to find is Granite Crusher and the Battle Pack. I think the GITD starter sets are still available.

Keep in mind this is only day 2. All of the nuts like you an me have gone out and cleared the shelves...and in the backrooms of Target and TRU, they have more boxes to fill the shelves.

So to everyone (in the US at least), please relax...also, keep this in mind, "shopping season" hasn't started yet. Once Black Friday hits, if you still don't have the Skylanders you've been looking for, then it might be time to start panicing. We have 1 month till then.

One last comment...I'm going to venture to say that there is only a small percentage of people that buy Skylanders that are as devout as we are. Meaning there is a large percentage of parents and toy collectors that aren't in the know or in the loop. They will start to catch on over time and then we might have a repeat of Series 1.

A good indication of Skylander's popularity is checking eBay sales. If $15 Giants are selling for over $50, there is a demand. If not and they are selling at cost, you can bet no one is looking or no one cares right now.

Take a deep breath...the only thing I would be in a rush for is taking advantage of TRU's sale this week. Also getting the exclusives. Other than that, in time you will have all of the Skylanders you are looking for.

I've noticed how many more Skylanders they're producing this time around. Something funny I've noticed about GAME;

For those who don't know, in GAME they have the shelves organised by console. So, you've got shelves for PS3, 360, PC, Wii, 3DS/DS etc. I went into a GAME the other day, and each console had about 2 shelves each - which is standard for a medium-sized shop.

At the entrance of the store however? 4 shelves of Skylanders. 3 shelves for Giants, 1 shelf for Spyro's Adventure. In contrast, a few weeks ago Skylanders had been reduced to half of shelf with pre-owned, loose Skylanders.

I think Activision have learned their lesson this time.
