The TRU in Fayetteville, GA came through on the Wave 2. I was skeptical because of what has happened on earlier S1 wave releases. It was myself with 2 other parents at opening and the employees hadn't put out the Wave 2 figures yet. The employee went to the back and brought out boxes marked with "Don't Put Out Until 10/22". I was able to get Flashwing, Hot Head, and Sprocket. I did see the Lightcore Jet-Vac, but my kids aren't interested in him. My purchase also included a Legendary Bouncer. And, TRU systems were smart enough to maximize the Buy 1-get 40% off where I got 40% off one of the Giants and the regular character.

This morning, my TRU still had plenty of the Giants Wave 1. I have to give them props, or Activision, because previous wave releases have been screwed up where it was extremely hard to find anything in the metro Atlanta area.

Holy crap, I live in Fayetteville! North Carolina, but still!

This morning was well-stocked, too. Hardly anyone touched the Giants, but whatever.

Oh, cool! You're lucky! The TRU that I go to normally says that I can only buy 2 Skylanders PER FAMILY, at least for wave one. I can't find out today though because I have school and TRU doesn't open until 9:30... (The one WITHOUT THE LIMIT) Need and plus anything else I might find. Wish me luck! More details tonight.

1. It's another America exclusive thing, when America already gets literally everything else except for a few Dark Spyro Single variants, Pearl Hex and Glow Fright Rider, and have Metallic Cynder, Chrome Spyro, WERDS, Flocked Stump Smash, and the Sidekicks to themselves.
2. There is no good reason for them to do it, anywhere. It ruins the suspense and excitement of new Waves, and makes the job of scalpers that much easier.
3. It's stupid.
But hey, I'll shut up once I get Sprocket.

Honestly, it happens in video games all of the time. It's not always fair. The U.S. and rest of the world get screwed out of SO many awesome RPGs that only Japan gets. It's refreshing to not get screwed on something video game-wise (although I'm sorry that others still are).

Toys R Us here only got one box and the new characters were gone within seconds. They said we could only buy 2 of the singles per customer. I was able to grab Flashwing & Hex along with Hot Head.

I had success as well. Only 2 other people besides me showed up. Maybe the Skylanders are going to be so well stocked, that scalpers just said screw it. HAHA!

My TRU didn't have any Hot Head, LC Jet-Vac or any wave 2 triple packs. They only had maybe 5 each of Sprocket and Flashwing if that. A handful of people walked in right at 9, and I grabbed Sprocket, Flashwing, Stump Smash, and Bash. I was debating on whether to get one more Sprocket (one for me and one for my daughter) but our store limits SG to 4 total and my son really wanted the s2 Bash. There were only 2 of s2 Hex but I didn't buy any since my daughter only wants LC Hex. There was only one L-Bouncer left.

Just got back from a TRU run. I was the only one outside until 5 mins before opening. They had a table set up with all of their wave 2 figs on it. There was not a lot of each, but I was able to grab all 12 figures out for wave 2. Success.

Thanks for letting me know! I sent my husband to TRU in the middle of his workday since my son is home from school now and he bought the very last Hex.

My ToysRUs had the table set up with maybe 30 of Wave 2 (and I think a few of Wave 1) on it too. And I had about 8 other people behind me at the doors. I didn't think that many people would show up for this early but ah well.

Got my two Sprockets, two Flashwings (One has a dislocated jaw and looks really derpy), and one Hot Head. I would have gotten two but they had so little of the Giant and I wanted to give others still coming in a chance for him. I was about to grab him after everyone was moving around and took their toys but as soon as my hand grazed the edge of his box another lady grabbed him. I looked around for anymore and went "Aww..no more Hot Heads" and the little girl (Preschool age I assume) with the lady goes "He's my Skylander" and it was so adorable and I felt better leaving it there, if I hadn't, that girl would be without her new Giant. D: I even helped them to find one of the last Triple Legendary Packs, so it was a good morning over here.

Just curious, GM, but if Giants gives you the ability to switch paths, why are you buying three of each? Don't you just need one to play and one to keep in the box?

I think hot dog is Wave 3 or 4. That's the #1 skylander my daughter wants. And unfortunately he probably won't be out before the holidays.

My post wasn't an attack on GM. I have decided that I am fine with him buying as many copies of figures as he wants. It's his money, and he isn't scalping them. He is buying them for his own personal use. If that's how he wants to spend his money, who am I to criticize it? I can question whether or not it's a wise use of money, but I am done criticizing it.

Plus, he has already stated that he isn't buying extra copies for his kids at this point because they haven't played the original game in months. Can't blame him on that one.

My question to GM is simply this: if you want one boxed set of figs for collecting purposes, and you can switch between upgrade paths in S:G with your open figs, then shouldn't you just need to buy two sets of each fig?

awwww cmon hime. all ya'll know if you saw some dude buying 3 of every figure and then you go up to them and ask them whats up and he explains the gamemaster78 theorem. you would all be like wtf mate?

I have run into a scalper before. He was trying to purchase all of the legendary 3-packs when they were re-released earlier this year. I called him on it, and he called himself a "re-seller" which was funny. The manager was called over, and he limited the number this guy could purchase to two units. It was sweet.

GM has proven many times over that he isn't scalping. He actually has lost a lot of money by not charging people for shipping (so he says - I happen to believe him). And GM doesn't empty shelves of the most popular products. He buys what he "needs" and moves on, and if he's concerned about quantity limits, he brings friends and relatives to help him.

I have said some, shall we say, unfavorable things about GM in the past, but I'm totally fine with him now. Consider this my official apology to GM.

Yeah, GM does lose money on shipping. He sent Camo and Warnado to my wife, and based on the number on the label versus how much he should have charged, it's probably 20% off overall. He's quick to get things, generous in who he sends them to, and actually gives you a discount for some reason. He's a toy redistributor, perhaps, but not a scalper, and the former is actually extremely helpful to people who "deserve" the toys just as much as anyone in the store, but were either hit hard by scalpers, or just plain never shipped to in the first place, like what happened to us with Camo and Warnado.

Hime is right. GM might get a little over-the-top sometimes when he's arguing for a cause he's passionate about, but he's totally benign.

all i'm sayin is billy boy goes a little overboard when it comes to the skylanders. thats all. and i think his justification is hilarious. never said he was harming anyone.

his definition of greed is a little skewed too. The man upstairs has bigger and better things to be concerned with than plastic toys. Don't get me wrong I look forward to his posts.

He does go overboard, but it's way more harmless than the trolling he gets in return for it. If people see a post by GM, they know what they're in for. Either he's their type of writer or he's not; no in-between.

I really can't tell who scalpers are or not, for sure. And I'm certainly not interested in going round with them pointlessly. I'm pretty sure I've met at least a few over the past few days (one guy who was buying for his "nephew", but seemed to be interested in multiples, including GITD Starters), and one beady-eyed ginger who says he has to have one for each of his three kids, but then inexplicably ends up with four or five in his cart when he thinks everyone is too preoccupied to notice. Still, I don't care. That just means the parents have to pay, unless they're willing to step up and put in the effort like many here, and myself, are. Scalpers are only able to scalp because suckers are willing to suck.

Of the many things that make this forum that is PACKED with helpful information challenging to swallow for me, the freaking obsession with the inhuman evil that are people who resell hot toys is probably the worst.

Back on topic:
I didn't have much success today, they DID have one S2 Sonic Boom, about 2 S2 StumpSmash, 1 S2 Flameslinger and stuff like that (On the table they had set up out front). But zero Flashwings (Thats who I was after), Zero Sproket and zero HotHeads. I got there too late.
I had called like 40 minutes before going there and the guy had said they had plenty of Flashwings, but alas, buy the time I'd gotten there they were ALL gone. They did have a crap-ton of Legendaries though.
So I just grabbed myself a S2 Slambam (Last one they had).

I got lucky at Target and Gamestop though so that made up for it

Grats to those who got their Wave 2's today C: Hopefully soon I'll nab mine I did nab the VERY LAST Granite Crusher at Target today so that was a good thing

I was able to nab the last sprocket at TRU today. They were chock full of Series 2 though.
