EDIT: I got all of them now. Now just waiting on the next waves...WOOT!

Woke up early this morning and met up with some friends. My goal today was to only buy the exclusives in the event they were in short supply. I ordered the Walmart and Gamestop exclusives online (GITD Starter and Golden Cannon), so I had no plans to hit Gamestop or Walmart today. Instead, I was focusing on Target and TRU.

We decided to hit Target first because we weren't sure how rare the Granite Crusher would be. Also because TRU was allowing online ordering for the Legendaries. We got to Target at 7:55AM and there was a short line...no problem. They open the doors and a few kids make a made rush. We get to the Skylanders section only to find the original Skylanders...and not many of them. Everyone is standing there clueless. Someone ask the Target employee, "What's going on?" He goes in the back and brings out a bunch of boxes. Mind you, I'm fairly irritated because I'm trying to get to TRU shortly after my Target stop. He opens a few boxes...no Granite Crusher. Everyone else was making a mad rush to grab whatever they could, but we were only there for Granite Crusher. On our way out, we see another employee with more Skylanders. He has ONE Granite Crusher and I got it. HA! While those other suckers were pilfering through the first boxes, I was able to get the one they were REALLY looking for. They said that's all they had. ONE GRANITE CRUSHER... (...turns out that wasn't true, but that's what they told everyone that got there early).

Then we head over to Walmart and grab the GITD Starter Set. Easy.

Last stop...TRU with the BOGO 40%. We get there and there's TONS of Skylanders. We see people walking out with large bags of them. I start grabbing whatever I can without even remembering what was on the Wave 1 list. I get all of the different ones I could and then check out. While I'm waiting for my buddies to check out, I notice people going through boxes. So I head back to the Video Game department to find out they put out more! So I start to grab the ones I didn't get my first pass. My wife calls me and she's at Target. She says, "They have Crusher here." I say, "Granite Crusher?" She said..."I don't know...it just says Crusher." So I tell her that's different and we hang up. 2 minutes later, she calls again "Oh, they have blah blah blah here..." Then I realize that she didn't know about the TRU promo and that I had not planned on buying any of the normal figures at Target. We hang up.

She calls me a 3rd time. "Oh...they have Granite Crusher here." I say, "How many?" She says, "Lots." So I tell her to grab a few for my buddies. During this phone conversation, I'm flipping through the Skylanders they just put up on the rack and see one I missed. So I grab it. BUT RIGHT BEHIND THAT ONE WAS SPROCKET!!! I have the phone in one hand and a different Skylander in my other hand when I hear... "OH, I DON'T HAVE THAT ONE YET!" And just like that, someone swiped Sprocket from me!!! Bummer!!!

So I head home to inspect my haul. Turns out I didn't get ANY of the Wave 1 singles. But it turns out I got a bunch of the WAVE 2 SINGLES (Bash, Stump Smash, Drill Sergeant, Sonic Boom, Flameslinger and Double Trouble.) Realizing my mistake, I head back to TRU to get the rest. When I get there, they put up TONS more Skylanders. Still no Sprocket or Flashwing. I grab the ones I was missing and head home.

So if my count is right, I got ALL of the new Skylanders (Wave 1 & 2), minus Sprocket, Flashwing and Hothead. Got all of the exclusives including Punch Pop Fizz from the 3DS. Not bad...

Now I have to figure out how I'm going to give these to the kids. I let them open the starter set, but they have birthdays and Christmas coming up, so I'm holding out to open the rest. Anyway...fun day.
